How many of you keep it to cotton only? thread, fabric, batt

I don't always piece or quilt with 100% cotton. Ideally, I would like to piece with cotton thread, but when it comes to quilting, you get limited if you stay with cotton.

My tops are always 100% cotton, back 100% cotton or sometimes fleece or Minky. As for batting, I'll try anything as long as it quality. Although, my middle in first first quilt was a Star Wars nylon blanket.... but we won' t do there.

My last quilt I pieced with Deco Bob by Wonderfil, super thin 80wt thread and just one bobbin for the entire top. It is so thin that you need to be careful of your seam allowance. I can't wait to piece with it again.

I only piece with cotton thread, use cotton batt, and fabric but I have quilted with polyester thread.

That is pretty much getting back to the real roots of this hobby. And I am just like you only taking it further and using treadles to make my quilts start to finish.

I only used cotton fabrics for my tops, usually bamboo or soft and natural batting and for the backs mostly cotton (weather it be flannelette, or calico)

I once did a top, not that long ago with a polyester blended fabric, as I couldnt get the colours I needed in cotton and never again, it was so hard to sew, the stretch in the fabric is unbeleivable! Not a good choice.
