I think I need a box with 2.5" sections. Maybe I will make one. I don't know how much of this I'll do. It's a departure from my usual work.

I keep my squares in stacks in a drawer (or two) of those stacking drawer units. My goal is to use enough candy to get the stash back down to just one drawer's worth.

I pulled out the UFO today and pressed all of the 16 patches. I was surprised to find that I had already cut the background squares! Yahoo! Last week I reported that I still needed to decide what to use for the background. Now I remember...I waited soooo long to decide on background fabric, that the fabric I originally wanted (out of print) was being printed again. Winner winner, chicken dinner!

Ready for Friday.

Dotty, I love your colorful group of patches. I store mine stacked on top of paper towels, too, when I was doing a PSQ & used an empty & cloth lined coat box from Christmas to stack them by rows. Hope this helps!
hugs,
dj

Haven't read the whole thread, but is there still room in this swap? If so, I would love to participate, if it is not too late to sign up.

Oh, I just saw that I missed the deadline

Oh well.... I may join you all on the QAL, if that is okay, and I will probably be a huge lurker on this thread! Can't wait until next year when I can play

That is so pretty in batiks, Fraew. Yours is going to be a beautiful quilt! Bonus on the background squares, too.

Nice to meet you, Wholeheart Mom. Glad you will be doing our QALs with us! I homeschooled my kids too, finishing up with the last one about 8 years ago. Do any of your daughters sew or quilt?

DJMat... Christmas boxes! That's a brilliant idea for temporary storage.

Welcome Wholehearted Mom. The more the merrier.

Fraew, Love the batik colors for your top. It will be lovely.

Today I start sewing my 4-ptches together, then I will start assembling my 16 ptches. Next week I have a quilting retreat with my quild. That will be one of 4 projects I plan to work/complete.

How nice that you homeschooled! Two of my daughters have graduated, both exclusively homeschooled, and I still have two in high school that I am schooling for another two years. I'm not sure what I will do when our homeschool days are over with! It was such a sweet journey

And unfortunately, although I taught all four of my girls how to sew and quilt, none of them enjoy it I still have hopes that my quilting gene will be passed onto my future grandchildren someday!
