2016/2017 Birthday Swap...now open for sign ups

I have been reading the postage and packaging with intrest. Here some things I do,
1ST-- use thin 6X9 envelopes, not brown ones.
2ND--use cards made with thin paper or make your own with typing paper folded in half.
3RD--make 6 stacks of 8 and extras on top, do not layer them so all show, they are too thick.
4TH--wrap in thin Saran wrap or Stretch-tight and use only enough to cover. Make sure to get all the air out or the package will be too thick.
I have never in two years paid more than the 2 ounce rate which is now .71 I buy enough stamps for the whole year at once and then I am set for the year. Good luck with the mailing everyone, especially you new traders, I love the candies.

How enlightening! I was binge reading the 2015/2016 candy birthday swap thread from last year. That was fun! The group seemed so delightful! I loved the pictures of the birthday celebrant's candies and all the suggested uses for the 2.5" squares! Everything seemed organized and went smoothly. I've only read half of the posts. I'm going back to read more later. I feel like I already know some of you ladies already. Thank you Barbara and thanks to everyone for joining this year!

Hi everyone! It looks like I will be able to join in on all of the birthday fun this year! I've been cutting candies in preparation all ready. It's tedious, but I save every single scrap so it's helping to lighten up my colorized scrap bins. A little into on me since I am new: I am 34 with a small family of a husband and three year old daughter. We have two cats. I have been quilting for a bit over two years, and over the past year especially it is a daily obsession. I churned out about a dozen quilts last year, two wall hangings, the rest are twin or larger. Just two finishes so far this year. I am practicing FMQ, and am so glad to be beyond stippling, lol. Thank you Leah Day! I participate in the Stash Bee blog which is SO much fun and one of my favorite things going on in my life right now. Check it out if you have an inclination! My birthday is in August, but I forgot to say that in my message to Barb, will get on that in a minute. I look forward to participating here in the coming year!

I am so clutzy. I forgot to give Barb, ny phone number and email address. How dumb could I be? I guess I was so excited that I just forgot. I was looking in the distance of things. I am so happy to have joined and can't wait to get started!
