Happylab they arrived today, thank you so much. To all of you, thank you again for all the birthday candies and the extra's that were sent. They will be used and probably shortly with our new Candy dresdan. Can't wait to start!

Step 1: Sew your whites together by chain piecing 2, 4, 8, +1. You will have 9, 9 candy strips. Sew these together to make your 9 x 9 candy background. (ONE 9 patch for a mug rug)

Step 2: Using the templet cut your 90 Dresden blades or place each candy on your cutting mat, squarely on a 2.5” measurement. Find the ½” center section of your candy piece. Mark 1/8” to the right AND to the left of this ½” center. Cut both sides of the blade from the top corner to this 1/8” mark. Fold right sides together at the widest end of your blade. Sew Ό” seam from the fold to the end, chain piecing all 90 blades. Clip the tip top at the fold just away from the stitching. Turn the right side out and finger press your seam open.
Center the seam and press pointed top of your blade using something to get a nice point on it’s top. Sew two blades together. Make nine piles of 5 two’s. I did this so I didn’t accidently sew to many blades together. Each plate will have TEN blades each or 5 sets of 2’s.

That should keep us busy for a week. I'll be home the middle of next week and see if you've been able to decipher my directions. AND post the next steps in our little wall hanging.

Sheri, this is adorable!! Why have I never seen your Candy Dresden before? At least, I don't think I have.... So cute, I have to make one.

Congrats on the engagement of baby Princess, Sheri. Hope you have fun being Mother of the Bride, shopping and planning. That's a special thing that mothers and daughters do together.
