2018 Summertime Block Swap
#751
Actually I am in the middle of deciding on a new sewing machine. I'm heading out to test drive it tomorrow. I didn't want to start quilting something on my old machine cause (1) I thought the stitching might look different if I used two different machines and (2) can you imagine how horrible it would be to work on my old machine with my new one taunting me? I'm hoping it comes home with me tomorrow and then I get to play with it and start quilting the graduation quilt this weekend!

Judith...Your Summertime II is going to be adorable. Your process is much like mine when laying out blocks but I don't take pictures. I typically leave them laying on the floor for a couple days and keep looking at them..lol! I'll have to start picture taking. At any rate, I love your layout and the Sue block is precious. Makes this quilt a keeper and not a give-away.

I am rather excited! My current machine was purchased 18 years ago used and I've loved it but am ready for something more updated. I've been researching for the past month and received a little sticker shock, but listened to the wise advise of many on this board and decided it was better to get what I want. I was able to make it work by finding, I think, I good deal on a used Janome Memory Craft 6600. It has more than I wanted but the more is rather exciting when I thought about it. Unfortunately, it hasn't finished it's check up at the shop yet...so the test drive is now on Friday.

I just want to let ya all know that I meet up with my mother-in-law this afternoon and she gave me my Summertime blocks. I love, love, love them!!!! Thank you all for your talent! I'll post feedback tomorrow, as DH wants me to watch TV together. I'll be dreaming about them tonight, I'm sure.

Not yet, Teen. We are still waiting and praying... We were promised we would hear this week, but that's what the company said last month, so we will see. I would love to move up to be closer to DH's parents and the girls can really get to know their Nana and Grandpa. My two year old daughter absolutely adores her Nana

Oh goodness! It's not like relocating is so easy for heaven sakes. I'll keep you in my prayers, NZ. I bet the kids enjoyed seeing Nana for block hand-off. I'm just assuming you took them with you to squeeze in a quick love-a-dub session (that's what my niece and nephew called it when they'd come see me when they were little 35+ years ago and still use that term today with their kids) oh Geesh...I'm getting mushy and teary now..lol..
