I’m thinking about joining this swap. I’ve wanted to make a patriotic sampler for some time now, do you just do this once a year?

Pam, I did hold a Patriotic/R/W/B Swap last year. So, I won't hold another swap like this one next year. I will be thinking of something else next year.

Ok then, I’d like to join. Do you need to know how many sets upfront or can we play that part by ear? I’d like to do 5 sets but am not sure I’ll be able to get them all done.

Are embroidered blocks allowed?

When you put your name on the blocks is it permanent or just an attached note of some kind?

Hi Pam, I will add your name to the participant list. Welcome.

No, you don't have to commit to a certain number of sets right now. Just know that 20 blocks is the maximum you can send.

Yes, Embroidered blocks are allowed. They make a lovely addition to any quilt.

When I put my name on my blocks, I just use the small narrow post its that I pick up at the Dollar Store. You can pin them or sew them on with your machine. I usually sew all my with my machine at the end. Nothing fancy, Just a long straight stitch. So, nothing permanent. Some people use address labels. Just your board name on the label is sufficient.

This is my next block set. I have 2 done in each color. I don't know what the name of the block is. I saw it in a past swap here on the board and liked it. It makes simple squares look very graphic.

I like them too. I received one in swap in the last R/W/B Swap and put it in the quilt for my son-in-law. The block is in the quilt above. The second from the bottom, second from the right. They are simple blocks. But, they look great in a quilt.

And please move me to the "yes, I'm in!" category.

I'm working on my first block now. Each handle will be a different red fabric.
