Got more birthday candy today. I even decided to open a few and the candies look great. For years I've been looking at the same old candies. Now I'll have something new. Thank you to:

Today, in the mail, one more package in the mailbox.

Thank you....
My fridge is 45 degrees warm. New fridge came and would not turn on....
My oven and my dishwasher both would not start and gave me the "F" message.
My car's check engine light came on.
My computer no longer recognizes my finger... OK this one is on me, my fingerprint is messed up from trying to finish hand quilting my UFO quilt.
But I have a group of quilting buddies sending me packages of yummy candies that I can not wait to do something with them... All those other things just have to sort it out with time (or wait until after my Birthday.).
Sewbizgirl, I am very tempted to open them too.

ahwu, I am trying to think of something clever to say, but all I come up with is "when it rains, it pours". Not clever. Perhaps you have accepted an invasion of little green technology aliens by mistake or you are experiencing an eruption (bird watching term) of "techie" elves. Well, in the end you may have some new kitchen appliances and the computer finger thing will heal itself, right? Now how to drive to the appliance store with a check engine light on? Hummmmm

ahwu -- wow! That's a lot of dingers at one time. Candies definitely make it a little better. I hope you end up finding fun and uncostly solutions to those problems. Try flipping the circut breakers for your stove and dishwasher. The check engine light may just be oxygen sensors that will turn themselves off after you drive a bit. Gotta be an optimist!
I have to take my vehicle to the shop, too. It won't be cheap. Sigh.

Wow, that's no fun, ahwu! Hopefully you can find some good deals when you are shopping for new appliances.
Today I've been catching up on house cleaning that has been neglected for the past month because of Baby's birth. Not my idea of fun, but it's gotta get done. Hopefully I will be able to keep on top of the mess now. Cleaning house with little kids is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos!

Funny, NZ... but I know exactly what you mean.
Sorry about your 'gremlins', AHWU. Those are not good birthday surprises!
I think I'm going to open the candies as they come in, from now on. It's a lot to open the whole lot on one day. I like to look at each one and ooh and ahh before putting them away. So far, I have the makings of a great scrappy quilt.

Many swaps back, one member picked her two favorites from each envelope she got and showed them. (Was it Macybaby?) Anyway, it was a great idea, without showing the whole load, just the favorites. So here are my favorites of the ones I have opened so far:
