2022 - 2.5" Birthday Swap
#1031

Crispy_Frog the pattern was from the 2020 Birthday Swap, I think. It is also a Wedding Dress Blue pattern, Growing Up Odd. It is also my avatar. Tee-Hee-Hee. Doesn't it look different when made with different color ways? I have made several. If you use the WDB pattern just substitute the 2" squares with 2.5's and reduce the final size. It would be HUGE if you follow the pattern exactly with the 2.5's!

found another pattern - like any of us need another one! - is using 4.5" blocks which is easily translated into candy! https://susies-scraps.com/2016/08/20...quilt-pattern/

Please don’t send extra candies yet. Let’s give them another week or two. You know some mail likes to take the scenic route. Our mail can be slow at times. Packages are delivered great, but mail, not so fast. I received a bill the day after it was due last week. It’s good I keep up on my bills and had paid the bill on time. Mail is so funny. But thank-you all for the candies so far.
fyi: I received all the Christmas 🎄 candy swap packages. Thank you for all of them. 😊😊

I've always cut up any small leftover pieces of fabric into 2.5" candy squares. It was hard to use them because there were never the same number of fabric squares available in the colors that I needed. Finding this group to swap with is such a blessing because I can make things with no repeats. I love that!
However, my shoebox was running over. I just finished grouping 20 packages of 50 candies for the 2023 swap. I'm ready!

Oh, you "go getter"!. I thought I was the only one being a little crazy when I started to cut up squares for next year. I found a collection of odds and ends of 2.5 strips cluttering up my work space and I started to cut them into squares for next year. I cut most of my scraps into 2.5 lengths but unless they are small I have been leaving my scraps in strips. With that method, I can cut the length as I need them for patterns than need longer pieces such as square in a square or 4.5 X 2.5 bricks. It works for me when I just need to sew mindlessly but to still be productive.

Thank you WMUTeach! That is the exact same quilt I am doing! Thanks for the link. They have tons of ideas for our little charms. Of course your profile picture is the same quilt. I knew I saw it on here somewhere. LoL!
