2022 - 2.5" Birthday Swap
#511

My envelopes went out late last week.
I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend. A few years back I was part of a Red-White-Blue Patriotic swap on these boards. I took a few of those blocks this weekend and made a nice wall hanging quilt. My husband also put a hanging rod up for it. I'm anxious to make some more wall quilts so I can change it up by season. It has hanging clips so it should be easy to change.

Irish, what a nice exchange project. Planning a small wall quilt for each season is grand idea to decorate your home as the months and seasons change. . Wondering the size of each block is and how many you had to make for the exchange. I have seen those exchanges but never signed up in fear I would have to make 15 or 20 blocks. My guild does this and one year I signed up and had to make 26 blocks!! Oh sure I got 25 back plus one of my own, but really, that is a lot of blocks. It strikes fear in me thinking of making that many blocks again.

My holiday weekend was spent in the sewing room cleaning up odds and ends of projects. More info to be shared later!

Irishmom, I remember that RWB block exchange. I may even have participated in it! We did a winter one, too. Seems like we exchanged sets of 4 blocks, as many sets as you wanted to receive back.
Your patriotic quilt turned out lovely.

A contest for the Month of June. This past weekend I spent Friday through Monday sewing and primarily putting to use what seemed to be a mountain of started but unfinished projects that use 2.5 squares. I had four patches, 9 patches, 16 patches, 25 patches and even a few that were larger and that were of other odd combinations. So, I began sorting and organizing them and then stitching them together into quilt tops. This resulted in three new quilt tops.
The question is "How many 2.5's did I put to use in three quilt tops total?" The swapper that has the closest guess will be sent a package of quilter friendly items early next week.
