Sewbizgirl, the fact that they are mostly appliqué is why I haven't even started any of mine yet. I am terrified of it, which is crazy because several years ago, I made an appliquéd quilt and it turned out fine.

MM, don't be terrified! It's easy. I did the raw edge with a good fusible, and then topstitched a straight stitch right close to the edge just for some extra insurance. It's a quilt on my wall now. If it was one that was going to get a lot of washing, I would have probably done a zig zag over the edge, rather than the straight stitch. Jump in there! The applique is so much fun.

Also, I did QAYG, so it was fun to custom quilt each row rather than wrangling the whole quilt under the needle.

I am heading out of state for a week.... I will not have internet access. Keep on making glorious squares! Mine will be showing themselves soon. I am trying all sorts of new things. You all are inspiring me to seriously consider some applique.... Let's see what I end up with. Have fun this week!

Your row by row quilt is amazing. I usually design my quilts myself. It's my favorite part of quilting but those row by rows are really tempting.

I already have the design for this boom's square done, mixing the traditional blocks I'll get with raw edge applique with beads and embellishments on it. I'm going to add some embellishments to my bonus square. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
