OH boy I LIKE those Postage stamp Pot holders!! SO Cheerful....Bought the Summer quilts and more magazine today with the CUTE T-shirt tisues holder..tonights COUCH time read. Many fun things to make.

The new baby is precious... SO tiny.

I have only been doing the sp swap since last August and don't keep track If I have stayed at the 10.00. There's always 1.00 stuff that is very useful at michaels, office supply stores, the dollar stores, sales, drug stores, etc. where ever I go I go snoop! A local q shop near by has FAT QUARTER friday the first friday of each month, ( perfect timing since we have our new pal names by then), the fats are 1.00, which is really a good deal, but there not always very pretty fabrics. Just have to go each month and check our their stash. I have a box with fun things I have made too! You can get alot for 10.00 if you really plan ahead.... who does that???? JoAnns always has sales too and coupons. The 99 cent patterns was FUN to stock up on this month. Wouldn't ya know it, the very first day and when i got there i recognized abou 8 ladies from a sewing circle I go to once a month... all after the same great bargins!!! FUN FUN FUN !!! SEW LADIES.... Its all about the FUN and brighten someones day !

i'm just curious, is this question to suggest that those of us who want to make mug rugs, potholders, coasters, etc. now need to consider making them in coordinating colors or themes or patterns to match folks kitchens/dining rooms? are we really expecting that of our online quilting friends. i'm just asking. should we also consider including what fabrc patterns are also acceptable? i'm just asking.

to me the mug rugs that i make are suppose to be fun items not color coordinated home dec items and i consider potholders to be utility items, something to be used for their intended purpose not necessarily kitchen decorations, namely the ones i make. i know if i want kitchen/dining room coordinated decorations i shop at pottery barn, macy's or bed, bath, beyond. i certainly wouldnt be expecting anyone from this swap to decorate my kitchen or dining room.

i'm just asking so i hope no one's nose gets outta joint over my comments. i know i could be a minority opinion here but i'm just asking the questions. walking such a fine line saps all of the creativity and fun out of making handmade items for me. but no worries i can stick to bought things.
