August 2020 to October 2020 Table Runner Swap
#11
Oh boy! I better get the lead out! Can’t make up my mind! Our Covid cases have taken big jump in last 2 weeks so I’m worried we may go back into some degree of lockdown again! Luckily I have lots of fabric in my stash to choose from! Lol hope everyone is well!

I just received my night theme runner from Caroline. Isnt it beautiful. I'm re-doing a runner I made for myself years ago. It was a challenge my friend sent me, a new way to applique. So far its turning out so much better than the original! Here's a pic of the Runner Caroline sent me

Your runner Marion is different . It has me intrigued as to how Caroline made it. The photo came out dark so I was wondering if it is a piece of fabric or has Caroline sewed all those stars on ? Lucky you

No it is not a piece of fabric. The background fabric is quilted with stars, then I cut out three sizes of stars from glittery tee-shirt vinyl. I then downloaded pictures of the constellations and placed the stars in the correct order, ironed them on, then using silver thread quilted again to make the links to each of the stars as they are shown in pictures (not the sky - LOL LOL).I have attached a different photo so you can hopefully see how it was done.
I have to admit... that I knew I would be sending to Marion so I made this especially for her as I know she loves her travels and Glamping in her mobile home...so I thought she would appreciate the stars at night!
Hugs
Caroline

Your photo is s j o much better than mine,Caroline last night, with the lights on, the stars were glittery and twinkling. Just magic! Thank you so much again. And I should have guessed it was coming from you with the hints. That extra name though me off.

Marion, it will be so much fun figuring out the constellations in Caroline’s table runner. It is really unique. And beautifully made!
I am hoping I can get my act together and participate this round. My DD accepted a job in Ohio and I’ve spent the last three weeks in Arizona helping her pack up and drive across the country to her new home. Movers deliver everything tomorrow and then it’s unpacking and organizing. I am exhausted but very happy to have her closer to home.
I also need to finish a quilt for my dad’s October 28 birthday and a belated birthday quilt for a friend. Dad served in WWII and I’ve started a quilt of valor quilt for him. He will be 97.
Maker’s choice would be fun!
