I have two dogs and a cat. I work all day also. Can't say which is better because I love them all! Ditto on rescuing an animal! Mine were and they are all three Mama's babies. When I go into the quilting room the dogs are right under the sewing table and the cat is on the ironing board, at the sewing machine, or right smack dab in the middle of what I'm working on at the time!

All of my boys were from the shelter. I have had one are two that have passed away now that someone brought to me from the dump. Love them all.

Absolutely it would be from a rescue or shelter. I have gone to PetSmart several weekends and I just look and pet the cats. I stayed for a half hour with one but I was so undecided that I didn't get her.

I consider it a big committment, for the life of the pet, and I don't take it lightly.

SulaBug, your cat is great! That was a good idea, too.
