Last year I took 18 quilts into the women's and men's abuse shelter. Took some for adults and children for them to use as they saw fit. Sometimes they just have to leave with the clothing on their back the staff told me, so sad to go through that kind of life, but I did get several thank you's that they were really appreciated. I figure it's a good way to give back a little and I just keep making them so they need to go somewhere. I also like that it helps locally. I try to donate one to any good fundraiser in the community too, helps the person in need when they auction it off.

Congrats Libster. Wow a GreatGrandma.
I love all the ones that people have done for me. Jaba.....I have done some with the same patterns that you used and also for the same person. Didn't know that until I was scrolling through the pictures. Too funny.
Here are my first ones done so far.

As strange as it may sound..most probably Libster. That's what all of my grandchildren call me. That's why I love my board name. They've just always called me that. When Joely's Mom was about 6, one day at school she ask her Mom who one of the other kid's Libster was. To all of the little ones in our family, it means grandmother. It's a mangling of what my knickname is.
Love my block, Urgodschild2. Thank you for making it for me.

Is she close to where you live Libster? My great grandkids are in Illinois and over a 5 hour drive one way so I don't get to see them as much as I like. ALL my grandkids and great grandkids just call me grandma....since I have older grandkids but then I have young grandkids who are basically the same age as the great grandkids I figure why confuse them! LOL...Grandkids make me realize what my true calling in life was to be...a babysitter ...wouldn't trade it for the world! Congratulations Greatgrandma!!

She'll be only 10 minutes away from me. Yep, babysitter and free taxi driver! And I wouldn't trade it for the world either. I've spent the morning at the hospital with them and I've already changed her diaper for her. I love when they're little like this.
