Well it could have been the steam punk angel I've committed to making for my 20 year DS My 25 year old artist DS drew it for me and its interesting to say the least.

Billi,, That's not nosy, it's helpful.

Welcome to the new ladies, you will love this boom.

Yesterday I went to an all day retreat with some quilters I gave only met once before. Had a great day. Made charity blocks the entire day, accomplished a lot but came home with nothing to show.

Wednesday an aid found my mother unresponsive, she was taken by ambulance to the hospital a block away. Extremely low blood pressure and another U T I infection. She thinks she is drinking lots of liquids but she's not. Boy oh boy if it's not one thing it's another

UTI is the most common cause of our residents being taken to the hospital. I'm GLAD that's usually all it is but at the same time we should be able to catch it sooner I feel...good pericare is the key!! UTI can sure cause people to ask unnormal cant it?? SO glad shes doing better and it wasn't real serious!!

terriamn - Prayers going out to you and your mother.

mjpEncinitas - The fabric looks great. Be aware of two points, though. 1.)Broadcloth comes in all weights, light for blouses and heavy for pants. and 2.) The fun designs may get lost in the cuts so please send generous cuts of fabric for us to work with.

    Cheers everyone!

My sister called and said mom's blood pressure was good but she was still very disoriented and just plain out of it. So want to bring Mom close to me but the facility she is in is wonderful. I know here in the city with the constant turn over of personnel she wiould not get the same quality of care she is receiving there. Really can't say enough good about everyone who works there

Thats the answer Terriamn!! If you find a place where the care is good and you feel welcome and at home with the staff then keep her there!! we have found when families move someone because "its cheaper"...the resident usually gets confused and disoriented and go down hill fast...It sounds like shes well taken care of and happy...you are blessed to find such a place!!

You will get an email from me this weekend sometime. Always allow me 48 hours for a response, especially around the weekend. Often you'll hear from me sooner but sometimes not. There are a lot of moving parts in these Booms and right now, I'm working on some other parts! lol. And yes, I rec'd your email. I have info to send and it takes longer than it will if you are a repeat boomer.

As for the broadcloth, well, that might be a first in the booms, but i'm not certain i'd necessarily notice the difference unless the weave was very tight or heavy as some quilting cottons are fairly heavy. If you wish to send it, it shouldn't be a problem but i would not think it a good idea to any on the blocks you make for others. There may be a substantial difference in the weight of the broadcloth and the F8s you receive. Other opinions?

Would broadcloth fabric be suitable? Here is the description:
    FABRIC TYPE & CARE:
This is brand new soft, smooth 100% cotton broadcloth, apparel/quilting weight premium USA designer quilt shop fabric cut to order from the bolt. Perfect for apparel, quilting, table linens, home textiles, and craft projects. Care: Machine Wash Cold. Dry Low. I'm going to order this online so I can't see it first.

I'm thinking of making a big center panel for a Day of the Dead quilt.

I think she will be able to tell if its suitable once she gets her hands on it. She did say she was going to order it and see it before deciding. It looks fun from the picture.
