Miss a few days and miss a lot! This has been a week of putting out fires for me, kids, cats and dog. Finally back on track, hopefully. Now to sew again! There are so many beautiful blocks being made!
Queenbarbie, I love the remake block! And the bonus one too. That removes the OCD dilemma of an odd number.
Terriam, thank you for such a pretty block, lots of HST. They make a nice block, but I hate making them.
Bibliostone Thank you for your block, I was contemplating making it. I like the lighter pink in your block.

MJ-the Celtic knot label is stunning, and such a creative way to make a label .
I'm curious who made the last block on Row 2? True story--I had originally made that very block with that exact shade of pink. But it came out 1/4" too short all around, so I abandoned it for a new block pattern with bright green instead.

Evening, Night Owls. Have a question. DH wants to buy (or renovate) a cabinet for me. Right now, I’m cutting on an Olfa 25 x 36, (overdue to be replaced) in small area of my sewing room. It’s in a corner so I can only cut from one spot. It’s inconvenient but has been workable for 20 years. An upgrade is very welcome anyway. What is your cutting surface? My table will be abt 60x 25 and I cannot find a large enough Olfa mat to cover it. Would you use two smaller mats or is there another product that would work? Any ideas welcome.
Libster, your pkg arrived today. Thank you! I’m out of town and will return Monday. My house sitter has tour pkg in her hands. Thanks!

Janice, I'm not a Night Owl, but have an interest in your question. Are you thinking you need or want to cover the entire surface with cutting mats? I'm not sure it's necessary. I have one of those white craft tables that have fold-down sides (which I never fold down). Guessing the top surface is about 60x42, based on the fact that I use the biggest Olfa mat like yours (I'm too tired to go upstairs and measure). Since I never cut more than a yard at a time, and usually much less, I have never needed more mat space. I like having the plain, uncovered space for stuff like a lamp, scrap keepers, note pads, pattern for reference, a place to set my blade, etc.

Sorry I’ve been out of touch. My 97 year old mother ended up in the hospital and I had to fly back to NY the next day.
i thought I’d be planning a funeral but she has 9 lives. I had to convince the docs not to send her back to independent living. She ended up in skilled nursing which is obviously where she belongs.
we tried to convince her to get help a few months ago but she was stubborn . I took over her bills and my niece checked her pill box but that wasn’t enough. She lost a lot of weight and got confused, her friend brought a sandwich up for her and she asked her what do I do with this? She’s now eating tremendously and getting meds administered by a nurse and I think that makes all the difference. She gets 3 hours of physical, occupational, speech therapy during the week. Has a nutritionist checking up on her. She’s in one of these lifecare communities and they are very, very good. We stay in her apartment and just walk over. My sister flew in to help and we are sorting stuff out so when she does move to assisted living and has to give up her apartment she’ll be ready.
im my mother’s person for health and money. When I told her my sister was coming she was very happy. She’s so kind! She told me you get stuff done but she’s kind. On Saturday I left them alone, when I got back I got her up had her do a couple hundred steps, do 10 chair stands and put on her shoes. My sister told me that’s why I’m kind and you get stuff done. She was very willing. She touches the beach bums every time she goes back in her room for good luck. I go home tomorrow. When I get old and need help I’m moving by one of my kids o they don’t have to fly cross country.
We are scheduled to go to Hawaii and my DH teased her if we can’t go I expect you to hula dance for me. I’m sleeping under the blue and white boom quilt. Janice I’m going to have to take the full time on these blocks.

you betcha! Ibex, here you go:

i'll try to get a better pic of the whole quilt. The celtic knot doubles as a wonderful label with everyone's name. The back is the beautiful red batik you see on the right and the binding is such a pretty lighter purple print. The whole quilt is just perfect. I don't think i can say" thank you" often enough so here goes again, "thank you!".
