Y'all! In case you didn't hear, a horrendous storm went through our state last night. We were blessed to be just above the band of scary colors on the TV news. We had a lot of wind, tho and undoubtedly will find trees down and branches on the ground. But the worst of it was in Rolling Fork, MS, just above Vicksburg. Tornadoes were on the ground for hours and have completely flattened the town of Rolling Fork. 2000 or so people lived there. So far the death count is at 23, with 4 people still missing. Dozens more have serious injuries from the storms. The town is just.... gone! Please pray for these families.

I'm sure our state guilds will be collecting quilts for the victims.

Sewbiz I was wondering how close those storms were to you. It’s hard to imagine an entire wiped out.

I cut my fabric and only had enough for 18 fat eights. Talk about frustrating. Going to see what I have here for 2 more odd and end pieces of fabric

SBG, that’s a bit close for comfort. Glad you were safe.

Terriamn, I hate when that happens. Last boom I thought I had 4 yards of my fabric and I came up short when I discovered I had three yards plus it shrank a lot. I was able to get some more at the LQS.

Sewbizgirl, thank you for the news. I'm glad you're safe.

t is time for everyone in MS to build with tornado shelters and basements again. How horrible for the people of Rolling Fork! This is awful. Prayers being offered up.

It's time for our name... Since I am partial to robins and Janice seconded me, "Robins" it is! I think we need a thread with the Robin name in it, so I'm going to open a new thread now. Please move our conversation over to there, and don't forget to subscribe to the new thread, so new posts will be easy to find.

Mine should arrive today. Headed out on a road trip with my son. He is relocating from Sparks, NV to Austin, TX for his work at Tesla. They are moving semi production to TX. I am back on April1 and cannot wait to start the BOOM blocks.
