Sounds like everyone is planning some great holidays!
MJP, Maui! It used to be my home (and is where I met hubby and got married), but it's been nearly 40 years since we left there, to start our home and family in Mississippi. All I can say is, stay away from the West side of the island. It will break your heart.
This is a beautiful time of the year to visit the rest of the island! Hope you'll post some pics when you get there....

We got home from Memphis last night. Finished up the house repairs (almost) and got a lot of needed painting done. The house still needs so much, but all in due time. It was great to get home to our comfy house in the woods. The night before we left for Memphis we had a small party, so the house is still clean and neat from our 3 day cleanup for the party! So nice to come home to!

Ibex, I got excited when I found Carol Doak's 50 Fabulous Paper Pieced Stars on my bookshelf! But that star wasn't in the collection. The book you have is now mostly unavailable to purchase online. It's out of stock on Abebooks and Thriftbooks, as well as Amazon! Yours may be a rare book now, so hang on to it!

I would love to borrow it but won't need to until the next Boom or so... Maybe we can meet for lunch sometime.

MJ Maui sounds so exciting but can’t imagine an entire house full of company for 15 days. You must be one cool and collected grandma.

Hubby was all excited the new golf cart was delivered and he said it was mine. I told him I appreciated the gesture but I was perfectly happy driving the old electric one. With the gas you are driving around basically idling around and you talk about feeling car sick. My tummy was not a happy camper but it sure rides nice when you can go a little faster.

Funny my oldest dd who doesn’t cook much called and said she was making stuffing for a get together of friends tomorrow and she forgot the celery, did she need to go back to the grocery store. Said sorry but yes most people like celery in their dressing. She huffed and puffed and said ok bye. A few minutes later she calls back and says I was reading the directions and after I cut up everything and add all the ingredients it says it has to be baked. Do you really have to do that? When I said yes she got all grumpy and said I don’t understand why people cook these big meals you know it’s very time consuming. Boy did hubby and I have a good chuckle

Family birthday season continues. A niece, nephew and my brother were all this week. Brother requested a donation to the local Parks Foundation to help a fund to replant trees that were felled by the tornado this spring. Easy shopping for him. He also got a book. I always give him a book for Christmas or his birthday.

Tuesday is my oldest daughter's birthday. Although we are not estranged, she has pulled away from the family to a large extent. I asked her out to breakfast on her birthday and she said yes. Yea! I let her pick the place and time and she chose 8:00 AM. Well, for the sake of reconnecting, I will be there with my best mom smile.

Won'y it be fun to get our packages before Thanksgiving. (Fingers crossed.) I have a "quilt work day" next Saturday and can show off your glorious blocks while I cut fabric for the next boom and Birthday Swap. They all think I am a little whacky doodle, but they are friends who have their own eccentricities when it comes to fabric.

I was looking at photos of last year Thanksgiving where my children and grandchildren were all together for first time. We were laughing so much playing games, we were falling off the chairs. Great memories. This year will be only DH and our dog. But we will be fine with loads of leftovers. And possibly great blocks to iron !!

Good morning. My days start with Ernie needing to go out then forcefully demanding breakfast. lol. Then he’s back to bed with DH. He’s got the life here. So now that my Ernie chores are done, I’ve got my coffee and am thinking about pulling my new blocks out to see what’s what. There is such a wonderful array of colors! Thank you, Squirrels!

Ibex, still need to hear from you. Please check your email.

Block packages will go out this morning when the local PO opens. I hope most of you will have your blocks before Thanksgiving.

It’s still quiet here so I’m off to read for a while. Have a lovely day.

Hello again. Here are my blocks in no particular order. I’m thinking of making a few more blocks and sewing two 12 block quilts with larger sashings. We’ll see. Thank you everyone for the wonderful blocks!

Janice love your blocks and what a great idea on making additional blocks for 2 12 block quilts.

One thing I truly enjoy in all the different parks is the Christmas displays that are already out. It is a big thing here! We go home for Christmas but still have a few fun Christmas decorations out but no light displays. Lots of beautiful light displays here.

I can better handle smaller quilts so I’ll probably go with it.

Christmas light displays aren’t big in this neighborhood but they were where we lived in GA. I do miss that.

They look beautiful together. I think it is a great idea to add a couple more, especially if you want it a little larger.
