Janice and Sewbiz great quilt top thanks for breaking up the long drive. Sure hope Cheesehead has better traveling weather than us. We were on road by 5:15 AM. And it rained from then to 3 o’clock. Poor hubby couldn’t use the cruise control for the majority of the trip today. He said he had to brake too often and too fast to even bother with it.

For those of you who are Bucky’ fans we did stop at one today. Being that it was a weekday it was busy but not terribly bad and we enjoyed wandering around and stretching our legs.

Talked to my second daughter and both kids who are still at home and her hubby have nasty colds. Will put off visiting them for a bit

Beautiful quilt tops Janice and SBG!

I am sitting here in the hotel room, winding down and enjoying the Squirrel posts. So sorry Terri that you had to start your trip home with inclement weather. Hope the rest of the ride is uneventful. No serious problems on the road with the exception of an accident in Nashville that blocked two lanes. Getting everyone into one lane to bypass the accident took forever, grrr. Tomorrow, we get to drive the tollway through Chicago, another nail biter.

Bucky's are awesome! We have two in Alabama and have stopped at one on a Sunday...never again!

Just lovely Janice.

It makes me want to play with a dark background and bright colors. These quilts will be classics.

Another bright and happy quilt. I struggle with yellow, but this is just perfect, and I really like it. Well done!

I have never been to a Buc-ees and don't understand the attraction. A team of folks from church went to North Carolina to help with hurricane damage and home repairs two weeks ago and during their report on their trip to the mountains one of their slides was a Buc-ees sign. It seemed to be a really BIG deal to stop there. Guess I don't get out enough. Tee-Hee-Hee!

Enjoying all of your quilt layouts. I am still plodding along on my other big quilt. Getting closer to the finish. Hope to do a big layout tomorrow and see exactly where I need sashing and additional blocks. It sure would have been easier to follow the BOM exactly, but I wanted to replace some novelty blocks because I am giving this quilt away to a niece. If Michigan gets the predicted weather, I will have plenty of time to work on my quilt for a couple of days.

Just curious if there has been any talk about when the next Boom might start? I’m just interested in participating possibly.

Yes, LC! Signups will begin January 12. You can look here for the link or go to member Swaps and find it there. (Good heavens, that’s right around the corner!). Hope you’ll join us again.

WMUTeach, as a Western North Carolinian now, please express my thanks to the church group who ventured so far to come to the aid of some folks here. The need remains great, even if it’s not making headlines anymore.

Janice right before we left I watched a show on all the help that is still needed in North Carolina.

Dang it was a real wake up call leaving the hotel for the car this morning. Brrrr it was 32, now in Kansas and it’s 25

So far today roads are great and no rain or snow.

Hope everyone has a good day.

I know that the hurricane and flooding are no longer on the radar of news reporters but our folks had to stay outside of the town they were working because so many other small groups, mostly church groups, were in the area doing home repairs and clearing downed trees. In general helping individuals. The community of helping hearts is large and not filtered through governmental services Our team saw serving organizations quietly helping return the area to some semblance of normal. I know that our team was blessed tremendously by the offering of southern hospitality by folks who had suffered such damage to their physical structures. I would not be at all surprised to find them returning for another round in the new year.

I will pass on your thanks.
