Merry Christmas to all.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve, Everyone was in a great time and I think all enjoyed the appetizers, cookies, dinner gifts and games. So nice after the disappointing time last year.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. It was a fine day for us except for driving back and forth to the city twice but the festivities made up for that. Unfortunately Charlie came down with a cough and fever late in the day and she slept through her mother’s birthday party. They’re supposed to be heading on a week’s vacation today so we have their dog, Henri. He’s about the same age as Ernie and not much bigger. Whether the family goes or not is now in question. We’ll see how Charlie feels later. In the meantime, we get to spend time with Henri who is a sweetheart but definitely not a fan of the grand girls. He was displaced as “top dog” when they were born and has never quite recovered. He gets to come here once in a while and be doted on. And we love him. He and Ernie aren’t buddies yet but we’re hoping that happens. They could each use a friend.

Today is set to be a quiet day. I hope to finish quilting my BH top. Other than that, there are no plans.

Hope you all have a nice and relaxing day if that’s your thing. Enjoy.

Today..... finish my Exchange Block quilt top, locate a backing from my stash and cut the batting. Saturday is quilt layering day! Maybe get started on the Merry Mayhem blocks. Walk, walk, walk! I have fallen behind the past week and it is time to reestablish the habit and reach my daily goal again. Raining... walk at the senior center. Not raining... walk the neighborhood and dodge the day-after Christmas shoppers.

Janice, I hope your two "bestie beasties" will become congenial friends.

Everything Christmas is totally put away, sent lots of cookies home with everyone and sending lots more with my oldest when I drop her off at Dd#3. Going to halve some of the Christmas cookie recipes for next year, to many favorites to make full batches. Was able to take some me time and cut a few more scraps into 2.5” squares.

When we get back to Texas the quilting group in our park will be meeting. Can’t wait to see what we are going to make this year.

A little dismal here and we just had a fog warning for tonight until noon tomorrow, not good with me having to drive into the city in the morning. Hoping they are wrong about their prediction.

My friend who will also be leaving for Texas very soon picked up something from her great grandchild and she is pretty sick. Sure hope she didn’t share any of her germs with me when I saw her a couple days ago. Can’t imagine having a virus another being curled up in my own bed.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Terriamn, hope today’s road trip remains fog-free. It’s terrible to attempt to drive in. We’ve got rain forecast for the day. I’m happy to spend it at home but DH wants to go out for lunch so we’ll see.

Finished quilting my BH Shattered top. Need to find a binding. Also bound a small table topper/wall hanging. It’s made with a bunch of scraps I put together. I have no idea what I’ll do with it. Just felt the need to make it. Next up will probably be the Giant Scrappy Swoon top I made years ago but never quilted but first I’ve got to get more batting. Wish I had room for a roll of it but that’s out of the question.

Ernie and Henri had a two second tiff but it startled me. They were in close quarters, apparently too close. There was snarling by both but it ended there. I don’t think they’ll be good friends. Both seem best as only dogs. Maybe we should reconsider going to lunch. Hmmm.

Have a pleasant day.

Janice -- I have a small dog who is very possessive. My son moved in with his pit bull who is very polite and shy and stays away from the small dog. Now that they are getting used to one another (it has taken months!) they tolerate one another pretty well. But my dog always watches to make sure that his dog is not getting too much attention from either my husband or me. Both are older animals. My son's is a certified service animal. Mine was found at the shelter and we adopted it because it was such a sweet , small, never underfoot, and nonbarking or biting chihuahua. There is hope for your two pups if you have months to give them time to get to know one another.

Terriamn -- I hope you don't get sick! Start your Emergen-C powders now!

WMUTeach -- how do you have the energy for all the projects you take on? Go girl!!

Today is the second day of Christmas.
The second day of Hanukkah.
The second day of Kwanzaa.
It is just a joyous time of the year! Blessings to all of you!

Ibex, I’m glad your two pups are getting along for the most part. I’m not surprised the small one seems to run the roost. Happily, Henri is just visiting for a week. I can run interference for that long. Both are in their teens. Ernie is easier going than Henri who is quite unhappy here. Makes me sad as he’s a sweet dog. He had no problem with our pittie but Ernie is just too rambunctious for his taste.

Can’t find a fabric for the binding. I have to keep trying.

Made it to the cities and back. A white knuckle drive both ways. Not only fog but a full fledge rainstorm on December 27 in Minnesota. Unreal

Heading south early tomorrow morning. Think I will look for some needle punch to work on, no small hand sewing projects going on. Having something to keep my fingers and mind busy makes me a much happier passenger.

Janice it is funny to see how animals get along with other creatures. We had the rotweillor and a lab mix, once they figured out who was the alpha they got along great. We had a cat named Blue who curled right up with both dogs. When both of the pups passed on we purchased Rio the calmest sweetest dog ever. But the cat just despised her. She would hide on the stairs and Rio would go upstairs and Blue would pounce on her. Poor old Rio! It took 8 years before the cat was nice to her.

Hope everyone is having a productive day
