MJP if I had 2 weeks of company I would probably just plain shut down. Now that we are empty nesters we are so use to peace and quiet and doing what we want when we want, I have just git to set in my ways. I hope you have a wonderful time. Love the quilt!

WMUT it sounds like you had a wonderful and festive Christmas with your siblings. I bet you are just thinking of pattern after pattern you can use with your beautiful fabric.

MJPEncinitas, so good to hear from you. I just thought about you yesterday and to see your post pop up this morning is a joy.

Like Terriamn, we’ve become accustomed to our quiet time so that when we have people come by, while it’s always a pleasure to see them, I’m happy when our house becomes our own again. Speaking of that, our previously quiet Christmas has just taken a turn. We’d planned to go to the grands’ in Asheville in the morning but now we’re going back in the evening for a little celebration of DDIL’s birthday. And Christmas Eve the family is coming here with DDIL’s father for dinner. And today they’re coming over for dinner and maybe a bit of Go Fish for the girls. So…we’re off to the grocery store today to get more food for our various celebrations.

That’s it from party central. lol. Have a grand day.

WMUteach - LOL - I just looked up MJP quilt - was 2019 and saw which one I made. It was one of the first times working with her fabric and I wanted it to be perfect!! But I normally can't recall which I made.

Oh the company - The last few years we have been on the road surrounded by the family at their homes, and then for a few years they came here. Will be a quiet time . We went to store and they had Prime Ribs in sale so we purchased it and then I ended up cooking it last night! Was sure good with plenty of leftovers!! It was so much easier to cook without all the family waiting and wanting Raw to Well Done!!

Christmas Eve Candlelight service is whats on the Calendar.

Just listened to Paul Harvey with his story about the Christmas birds. love him!

Love the quilt, MJP! And all the stories about everyone's Christmases are heart-warming. We are going to Memphis tomorrow and have to pack up the car with our stuff and the dog's, Christmas presents and Christmas food today. I'm hosting Christmas dinner at our house in Memphis so I need to get right on the food situation.
Yesterday we went to visit old friends and she gave us a beautiful cake and spritz cookies to take with us! I was so blessed, especially since I was thinking i would have to squeeze making a cake in before we could go. Now I won't have to, and my friend is the best baker I know! Her spritz cookies taste like butter. Serendipity!

We celebrate with the family tomorrow, my cheesy sour cream potatoes are made, Watergate salad is next and a tiny single serving of fruit cocktail and whipped cream. Hubby takes care of the appetizers, ham, green bean casserole and rolls, we freeze corn on the cob in the fall and that is always a big favorite. I even prepare my sweet potatoes today.

Our grandson’s birthday is today, he is the one who went into treatment and still isn’t drinking. I asked if it was going to be hard being sober tonight, he said he is determined to stay straight. Thank goodness.

Have a great Christmas.

Doing odds and ends of Christmas and quilting projects today. Making Spicy Christmas Jam next to gift to my neighbors. After that to the sewing room to add setting triangles to my quilt group's exchange block quilt. That will mean two quilts to layer at my quilt group work day on Saturday. With simple quilting I am hopping to them both finished by January 1.

Oh, any of you doing the Merry Mayhem's 2015 New Year's Day online Mystery Quilt? Don't forget to check in on Christmas day, or the day after, to catch the next set of instructions.

Happy Christmas Eve! DH and Ernie are sleeping in. I turned on a simmer pot filled with wonderful scents and am relaxing with a cup of coffee. Bread is rising to go with tonight’s stew and all I’ve got to do is spiff up the house a bit before the family arrive this afternoon. Once I do that, I’ll go back to the sewing room and play a bit. My BH Shattered is under the needle. It’s rough quilting as there are so many seams but it’s for me and I’ll be content just to get it done. It’s loaded with Boom scraps and each block is a walk down memory lane. There’s even a piece from a maternity top I made for myself 40 plus years ago. What a thrill to find that scrap.

Oops, sounds like there’s movement in the hallway. My quiet time is ending. Let Christmas Eve begin!

Merry Christmas to my many Boom friends. May tomorrow and this season be filled with joy, peace and filled with just what makes you happy. ZuZu is dreaming of Santa and more toys to play with.

We made it to Memphis yesterday, finished decorating the tree, and put all the presents under it. Now to grocery shop and prepare for Christmas dinner at our house tomorrow. Here is our tree, ready for the family.
