Glad your Christmas blanket is now safe and sound around your shoulders while you snack on a cookie and a cup of tea. That elf is such a trouble maker.

Good morning. Just checking in to say hello on this damp morning. It’s quiet around here. Ernie is doing great. He’s really showing us his personality now. Quite the little comedian. Still no word on when I’ll have knee surgery. Should hear soon.

Hope everyone is doing well and that you all aren’t stressed about the holidays. I have a few Christmas cards to get out, otherwise we’re in good shape.

Have a grand day!

Christmas cards out! Check. A little bit of quilting yesterday and more today. Check. Check. Ran down a rabbit trail and cleaned a drawer in my bathroom. You know the one with make-up, combs, brushes, nail polish, safety pins, hair pins, odd medication etc, etc, etc. Tossed out empty make-up containers I was keeping for those "just in case" moments, put the medicine where the medication should be, the hair combs, clips, claws where they should be and made room to put nail polish and odd lipsticks in a section of my tray toward the back of the drawer because, really how often do I do my nails. In one section of my little organizer I now have room for the make-up basics that I use every day. One eye liner, one mascara, one lipstick and one eyebrow pencil. No more hunting through odds and ends to find what I want each morning. Sometime rabbit trails are very useful adventure. Oh and I washed the organizer. Yuck Where did all of that make up dust and hair come from. Now it is gone!

Now on to Christmas shopping!

I have my Christmas baking under control. Made my breads in Texas so only working on my cookies. Unfortunately as hard as I try not to allow my daughters to stress me over Christmas tit’s not working. We definitely need to come up with a better plan going forward.

No sewing for me, left my main machine in Texas and don’t feel the need to set up a back up one and that is also helping with my stress level. No last minute Christmas gifts to sew. That could change once my oldest arrives, might need some one on one time with a sewing machine for some quiet time.

Very cold and dismal looking outside. Saturday the temps were in the 40’s and all the snow melted.

All but one family’s gifts have been purchased and I can start the wrapping soon, not a favorite task but a rewarding one. Once they are nestled under the Christmas tree

WMUT when we return this spring my bathroom drawers are also calling me for a good cleaning and organization. Since growing out my hair I have a ton of hair accessories from hair ties to headbands. Let alone the makeup

Our windshield was hit twice with rocks in Texas and today we take it to be replaced, go grocery shopping, hit Menards and run a few other errands. Hoping it warms up

My grandson who went through treatment is hanging in there, his mind frame about himself is so much better and I think he has started to care about himself once again. Great news and can’t wait to see him

Hope everyone has some time to sew today

Ah, Terriamn and WMUTeach, why do those drawers and shelves and closets get out of control so easily and quickly? I just cleaned out three shelves in my bathroom linen closet. I threw out old makeup I barely have touched and expired otc meds. So old. I’m “dressed up” if I put eyebrows and lipstick on. All the other stuff is superfluous. Ditched some broken combs and old toothbrushes I use for cleaning. Basically I found myself a lot of free space. Wonder how long it will stay neat?

Found out surgery will be in Feb of next year. It was almost this Thursday but the hospital denied it due to an IV Fluid shortage. (Another casualty of Helene was the plant that produced the fluids used in surgeries. Only emergency surgeries are being done at my local hospital.). I might have to push Boom 33 back a couple of weeks. We’ll see.

I’m off to remake a cheesecake for a party tomorrow. The one I made this morning is missing two key ingredients. I was distracted by the talk of surgery in two days that I Messed up the recipe. The ingredients are sitting on the counter while the cake is in the oven. Huhhhh. As I always say in these circumstances, oh, well.

Yea, I was amazed at how much space is in my one little drawer now the "stuff" is gone. I also discovered two bottles of lotion that I tried and did not like. Out they went! Just like trying to sew down the fabric stash, I am eating from my freezer, tossing out the unneeded and unloved "what evers". Taking on the linen closet is a good idea. Small enough to not take long and will make life easier. It is mostly messy, but still in need of a 10 minute deep dive.

Sewing is going to be a miss today but there is always tomorrow.

Happy baking everyone! Cookies, cheese cake and all Christmas goodies make the house smell so festive.

These quilts will be beautiful. I love the gradient colors.
