Moon, do you have a secret as to what size material to cut for paper piecing? I seem to cut them too big and waste material or cut them too small and they dont fit! Its really frustrating to me...Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Hit and miss unfortunately for me.

I know there is "waste" to paper piecing and I've come to accept that in order to experiment with different blocks. If I ever took the time to actually read the books I might find out some good hints & tricks. I do try to cut the fabric about 3/4" bigger all around than the piece needed....have to do all the "pre cutting" on the "front" of the fabric or you're outta luck (except for piece #1). Since these are learning lessons for me, I know there will be mistakes and excess. I'm sure if I made a full size anything, I would want to be more precise.

There's some that "love" paper piecing that I'm sure could give you some wonderful hints under the section of the board for paper piecing (go to your "main" screen and scroll all the way to the bottom...you'll find the category and then can find some great people to ask too)

Sorry I'm not much help huh :-(

You were a big help! I just thought I was wasting alot of fabric with paper piecing but I guess its not all that much. I love to see the blocks finished when I do the paper piecing but Ive about decided to just do "normal" blocks. They go faster and I dont get so frustrated...guess pp is just not for me!! :) THANKS for all your help!
