I hope all my quilting friends in Sandy's path stay safe and warm. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

we'll be hit by sandy, no doubt, but we are not in a low-lying area. a power outage may work out for this swap-- it would give me a chance to pull fabs and do some cutting for blocks. my treadle has been ignored for the last 50+ yrs so don't expect to be able to use it. will finish fmqing my dgd's quilt, my avatar, and then i can sit and sew binding on (in the dark, lol). it's only going to be dark at night so i still have plenty of time to do things in the light. i hope everyone closer to the shore will heed the warnings and get out of dodge! what's the worst that can happen... that you made a trip for nothing? don't forget to take your pets! we are filling the bathtub so there will be plenty of water available. the flashlights have new batteries, the candles and lighters are out at the ready, and with any luck we won't need any of this stuff! i'm optimistically expect the storm to take a hard right and fizzle out ! we can continue to hope and pray!

We are all set for Sandy out here in the woods. DH actually has an outlet for my sewing machine hooked up to our generator! His job requires him to be on duty during storms, and I have charge of the homefront and animals. Boy, those chickens were not happy when the hurricane shutters went up on their coop and I didn't let them free range. Now I can get caught up on some UFO's myself. Everyone be safe, please, my prayers are for all on the East Coast.

I heard some places in Va may get up to 2 ft of snow-blizzard conditions-and it's not even Halloween! We're supposed to get heavy rain and wind monday night and tuesday. sounds like it is going to make things rough for a lot of people. Be safe

You never know. Mainly the cord tends to have dried out and broken. I think you can try a bungee cord or nylons. Praying it won't come to it. So sorry for everyone.

To all of our Diamond East Coast Swappers, I'm thinking and praying for y'all. PLEASE "hunker" down and be SAFE!!! Know that we will be here when things pass and if you need a place to evacuate to, let me know. This quilt sister in Houston will be waiting if y'all need to come this way!

    Hugs and prayers!

Fraew I still love you! (where did she put that quilt, looking under cushions, nope not there) oh yes we are still friends

Nancia I will do a happy dance for you and anyone who wants one ONE TWO THREE (yosemitesa this is your clue get out here NOW) uh one sec folks music delay.. its a One and a Two and.. da da da da daaaa diddellididdle da de.. isnt she wonderful folks? tap dancing here way across America in her little cheerleader skirt is Yosemitesa filling in for the famous brat.

I agree get out and worst case you take a vacation. someone posted in dollquilt swaps that two shoelaces work in place of a belt on the old treadle machines (she said trust me I know so she must know right?) Krystyna who lives on a sandbar is staying to ride it out in NY. she runs the dq swaps. wow is all I can say to that.

I received this lovely block from Nannakathy55 (hope I got that right) and thought i would share it with you today once again no I need this one so its not up for grabs I am getting such a great equality in blocks, some black yellow, some blue yellow some with red its all going to be absolutely perfect! tada! I could use more red if you havent made a block yet
