Dedemac,
Is that tatting? Really lovely!!!

Lynnie, oh Lynnie...I can hardly see today with my red, puffy eyes...too much crying over your sad, sad, sad stories..
Ok, I'll give you the Ebay deal...the thought of not being able to bid would "do me in"! Now dh would probably be crying from utter joy if I was unable to bid on EBay.
But, seeing as to how I can bid, I'm off to Ebay, to see if I can win an auction for a huge lot of Kleenex...for Lynnie, myself, and you others who are also so saddened by Lynnie's tales of "Wanting that sewing machine orny so bad!".
Kif

Yes it's needle tatting, I'm still trying to learn to do the shuttles. (Too many moving things.)

My mother used to tat, I never could master it, although I was pretty adept at crocheting. I made DD a huge crocheted tablecloth for her dining room table that took me 9 1/2 years to make. Never will do anything that big again. Used to make a lot of doilies, but arthritis keeps me from crocheting now.

Grann - Last year I was trying to tat a doily for my mom's china cabinet, but could not figure a pattern that would work. So I knitted one with crochet cotton. It took about 4 months, using 00 needles. Every time I go over I forget to look and see if she put it in the cabinet.

Jamimclaugh,
Very pretty ornys!

Dedemac,
I'm impressed! At my local quilt group one of my good friends teaches tatting (shuttle). I told her no thanks.. I have my grandma's shuttle, but that's one thing I never learned to do. I also have crocheted doilies, etc with the cotton thread, to me that's much easier and faster! Tho really how would I know since I haven't tried tatting..lol. Several of the gals have put their tatting on their crazy quilt blocks, I just crochet my little motifs for mine..haha. Ah well, as I always say if we all liked the same things how dull would this world be?..

Lynnie,
I haven't cried in several hours...any more tales of woe??..
