Can't wait to see your pretty browns blocks. Mine ended up all having blues and golds and some a little red or green.

Yeah, for some reason my eyes smile when I see dark browns (or taupes ... yum) and sky blues. But I also have some other blue stars that aren't in the pic. Good thing they're all washed.

Looking forward to the swap. You ladies make lovely blocks!

OK, so here's a question: is a set a group of three different blocks or a group of four of the same blocks?

And another: are we pressing all the seams open or just the Double T?

    Hey, this is fun!

I think some years ago there was a line called Vicksburg that had all browns, tans and blues. I still mean to make an all browns ansd blues quilt. I hope I get atleast one of your browns and blues blocks in the swap.

    I hope this is correct-

1 set is 12 blocks of 12 1/2 in. unfinnished
    made up of-

4 blocks of Star of Virginia,
    4 blocks of Shoo Fly,
    4 of Double T.

To add to what Anna shared, each of the four same blocks needs to be made with the same fabrics...but you can vary the 3 different patterns. In other words, the Double T's can be with different fabrics than the Shoo Fly and Star of Virginia.

OK, so that is just what I thought. I just wanted to be sure before I start cutting.

    You guys rock!

OK Deb ... and fellow swappers. Aware of being just a little behind, I've chosen the fabrics for my three blocks. Please let me know if anything simply will not work.

The three with the grey stars on blue will be the Virginia Star while the brown and blue to the right will be the Shoo Fly block, and the brown and gold will be the Double T block. I'm not absolutely certain about the last combo and may switch the gold to a beige-y something. Or not. Depends on how it turns out.

I think these will probably all work.

You are not behind totosmom, we have a little time yet to get them there. I am working on mine also. I have the shoofly done, the pieces for the double T cut out and ready, then realized I am short for the Virginia Star so hopefully they still have the fabric or I am going to have to start over on them.

Your colors look good to me. From the photo, the one you say is gold actually looks tan/beige to me.

Lovely fabrics Garnet. They go together very well, and I particularly like the tan one. Will that be the background to two different Ts?

Toto, guess the large stars are out. It does speak of Independence, but the CW fabric I am looking for in this swap is more muted. Disregard the pm I sent you a bit ago. I like the more muted fabrics for this swap. Maybe next spring I will do a patriotic theme and those stars will be perfect for that.

No problem, Deb. I'll start looking for another muted fabric ... or three. Wish me luck!

I'll keep the stars for the future.

From the pictures posted so far, everyone's going to be happy with any of the blocks they receive. Nice job sewers.

OK, folks. Here are two more possibilities for the Virginia Star. What are your thoughts?
