My 5th set, a 9.5" squash, is done! Now off to the post office tomorrow. That's one day earlier than I thought

That's Awesome NZquilter. I thought about a squash. But, couldn't figure out how to make it look like a squash. It's perfect!! I will let you know when your blocks arrive.

Just a quick question, how is everyone putting their own name on their blocks before mailing? I don't have enough pins to spare, so would a small 'post-it' note with my name work? Besides, I don't know what to think about sending 20 pins through the mail; seems to me to be asking for damage....

    Great blocks Armylady and NZquilter.

I used a basting stitch to attach my name label.

Thanks, GracefulAnn and DeeCee, I followed your advice and used a basting stitch to baste my name label on. Now to wait patiently for August Oh fun, fun, fun!!

I am in awe of these blocks, Armylady, NZquilter to name just the latest.
--- Working on a 'sample block' for my 3rd set, I'm mightily discouraged.

I worked for the better part of 3 days (I am s l o w) on this block - despite seam-ripping, measurement corrections, attempting to simplify - halfway through, me: 'aw heck no, I'm not making a set of these, I'll use this as my extra block' - and it's still a fail. Came up SHORT - 12.5" wide OK, but is only 12" in height.

Plus I had trouble even making flying geese, despite having made them before. I really wanted to make a block that was wholly pieced as a mine tend towards applique, and I could tell from my HSTs I needed piecing practice...well I need a lot more practice. Here it is, somewhat different from the pattern, though not much...by the time I was really into it, all I wanted to do was get out of it!
