oh I get it now! (smacking my forehead) That is a D4patch with a TWIST.
sigh, I had visions of the regular one and also could not tell if it was supposed to be one pattern with 3 other coloured blocks. I see how nice that is.
would love to do this, but will not be able to participate this time. Will be following the pictures though
class starts on Wed. so my time will be otherwise focused for another 10 weeks.
looking good Jane

Here is a preview of upcoming themes so you can plan accordingly:

March - Patriotic - red/white/blue - - - - decided, after receiving some sage advice, to schedule this far enough ahead so we would potentially have our quilts in time for the 4th of July!

April - Civil War reproduction - - - any color paired w/ light shirting fabrics
May - Asian theme
June - Chocolate covered Cherries - - - what, you ask??? Browns and pinks.

Jane put me in for 4 sets for February thanks. I posted a picture of blocks from my two sets I started they are in my album Disappearing 4 patch Blocks made. I have to shop for material for sets 3 and 4 yet. I plan on mailing my January sets Friday or Monday depends when I can get to post office. Feel free to go to my album and check them out. Let me know what you think. I am enjoying doing these blocks as I have never done them before. Oh and my February sets I was able to square them off to 10 inches.

pbadder, not sure but I think they are suppose to be 9 1/2" square. I made 1 trial block and did exactly 1/4" seams, being very careful to match those points and barely had any to trim. Did you oversize your starting squares or sew 1/8" seams? That's the only thing I can think of to why they are 1/2" larger.
Pattia, it's all in the way it's cut this time, totally different from what we've been doing, try a practice one maybe. I did just because I wanted to make sure they were accurate. Takes a little pinning this time to get everything to match up....at least it did for me.

Nope started with 6" squares and did 1/4" seams If have to can square to 9-1/2" I wouldn't have to cut too much more around the sides to do that

So January's block is an 8.5" finish and February's block is a 9.5" finish?
