So I got busy this weekend and started copying chickens onto Steam a Seam to make more blocks. I currently have one set completed (3x3), chicken legs in the works (6x6), a funky rooster.. I think will be 9x12, a row of chicks (12x3), and another hen, but I am going to shrink her down because I don't have enough fusible to do all the blocks, so I am thinking 12x12. That puts me at five sets. Now I just need to get the fabric and sew!

I personally love the fact the blocks are all a variety of sizes. I love the look of multi-sized block sampler quilts. I feel that I can really let my hair down with this swap and just be silly without nerosing that the blocks are exactly 12.5 inches... I think when this swap is finished we should do another odd sized sampler quilt swap. They're just unexpected and fun!!

I like the idea of the multi-sized blocks, too. I'll be lurking to see what you all dream up for the next swap.

I agree too!.. These are so much fun to make! What are you thinking of doing next time around?

Sandpat... One of my block sizes is 9 1/2 x 12 1/2. I still need to blanket stitch and I so want to find some googley eyes that can be stitched down.. I think those would be funny!
The other 2, still don't know yet.. just keeping ya posted!.

I'm brainstorming, which is ridiculous as I am running three other activities... Lol. Maybe we can con Sandpat in doing it- hahaha! How about something silly like cupcakes? Or elegant, like birds and flowers? Or a crazy quilt- any block in any color, or a serious quilt, any blocks in a set dramatic color theme... Yesh, I need to get out more.
