This is a swap for funky cats. By funky, we mean that it can be a silly pattern, a regular pattern made up in unexpected colors, a great cat fabric fussy cut......anything that is fun will work for this swap. We want to end up with some really fun and whimsical quilts! The intent is to have a great time!
The swap is open to all experience levels.
Blocks can be any size that is divisible by 3" (plus seam allowances). They can be square, or rectangular. They may be pieced, appliquéd, painted, embellished…anything goes! Please keep in mind that all appliquéd blocks MUST have the pieces sewn down in some manner and that “plain” fabric blocks (just cut up squares), while appreciated to share with other swappers, WILL NOT count as “swap” blocks.
Blocks will be swapped in sets of 6. 1 set = 6 blocks. You may make as many sets as you would like to receive back.
**Please note that we will be swapping out all 6 blocks, and you will not be getting one of your own back. If you'd like one of your blocks you will need to make an extra.
Blocks should be mailed to me in a ziploc baggie inside an envelope, with your name and board name on each individual block. You need to include a Flat Rate envelope with postage on it for me to send your return blocks. The return blocks probably will be be different sizes than ones you sent in and postage is difficult to figure out, therefore, the Flat Rate envelopes work very well.
Sign-up deadline is April 30, 2011. Please only sign up when your blocks are done and ready to mail. Mail blocks to me no later than May 15, 2011. Blocks will then be swapped and mailed out by May 30, 2011. International swappers are welcome, please keep in mind the difference in mailing times.
All of the general rules for swaps also apply here. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm.

Yippeee!!!! And here we go!!
Since I hosted my last swap, many of the hosts have included that phrase about not signing up "officially" until you have your blocks done. I guess that takes away the pressure of committing to something and then not being able to get the blocks done....buuuuutttt...I'll be happy with anyone who sends in blocks to swap..really anytime they want to commit to it
I worked today on the computer on that "I heart my cat" design. The stitches weren't working right...and low and behold I found that my software will actually let me change the stitch type and length. Now...if I only know how to make it work!! LOL...I'm figuring it out, I think. If not...it will require a private lesson at my LQS where I bought the software.
