This swap is for funky farm blocks. By funky, we mean that it can be a silly pattern, a regular pattern in unexpected colors, applique, embellished, etc. Anything that is fun and whimsical will work for the swap. Plain pieces of fabric do not count as a block, but can be used for filler pieces. We want to have lots of fun with this!
Blocks can be any size that is divisible by 3" (plus seam allowances). They can be square or rectangular.
*Note: Limit of 2 sets of 3" blocks. If questions, please PM me.
A set will equal 6 blocks. You may make as many sets as you would like to receive back. Note: we are swapping out all 6 blocks, so if you want one for yourself, you need to make an extra.
The swap is open to all experience levels.
Please check your blocks before you send them to ensure the following:
Use only 100% cotton fabrics.
Seam allowances should be 1/4". Blocks we swap should be constructed so that they can hold up to machine washing and drying.
Please check that there are no holes in your blocks.
Please check to make sure that the seam allowances have not frayed so much that they won't survive machine washing and drying.
Please measure carefully to ensure your blocks are a correct size.
Please remember that all appliqued blocks MUST have the pieces sewn down in some manner.
Plain fabric pieces will not count as swap blocks. But they are appreciated as an extra!
Please understand that I will have no choice but to return blocks that are not the right size, or that are not constructed to survive machine washing and drying, or other issues.
Your blocks should be mailed to me in a ziploc baggie inside an envelope/box with your name and board name on EACH individual block. You should include POSTAGE STAMPS ONLY (or cash) for a Flat Rate envelope for me to send your return blocks. (NO pre-printed labels.) Blocks may be different sizes, plus filler pieces, etc. and postage is hard to figure, so flat rate postage works the best.
International folks need to send adequate $ to pay for your postage.
Sign up deadline is August 1, 2011. Please sign up when your blocks are ready to mail. Mail to me deadline is August 15, 2011. I will swap out and return blocks by Aug. 31, 2011 or as close as possible.
All general rules for swaps also apply here. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm.
