What a lovely flock of chickens you got!
I can't wait to see you make a queen quilt and a floor quilt with them. please post pictures when you get it laid out.

Here's one layout I have in mind but I think it needs a large focus chicken similar to the one in Marcia's quilt or sandpat's chicken so I may whip up one of those. Notice I have to have all the left facing chickens on the right and the right facing chickens on the left. :-D The older I get the more anal I get! :-D I have a few holes for the chickens Rachel is sending me. FYI that layout is 60x72 so not huge but a nice size throw. I have some small egg fabric to get some of the blocks up to size.

:-D
It certainly takes a lot of 3" blocks for fill in's. I'll be using fabric in a lot of places.
This is so much fun!
I never found my blanket I use for a wall board so had to use the floor. I'm sorry the picture is so awful. I love all my chickens and will be naming them soon probably after the makers! thanks again to all those who participated and a special thanks to sandpat for all her hard work. I'm so glad I found the time to get in this swap.

:-D

Susie I will do that. I am going to look for a variety of fabrics to use as sashings and some really bright fabric for the pillow cover and sides!

I hope that everyone shares pictures of their quilts! That will be really cool to see the finished products!

I like your layout. Yes, I agree that you need a large focus or medallion chicken. Pattis' Peaceman would be perfect!

If you add sashing, maybe in batiks or something really bright it would liven up the quilt and make it larger!! Just a thought!

Susie...what a great layout! Sorry you didn't get a Peaceman...would you like for me to draw the pattern out for you? I'd be happy to mail one to you. Just let me know.

I think that the additional sashing and smaller blocks will help to tie the whole quilt together, so I have no problem adding to mine. Its just so much fun to play with the puzzle!

Thanks. I really love that peaceman but I think it's too many small pieces for me. The more I look at the one on Marcia's quilt I think that is more doable for me.
This is the one I am talking about.
