I've had several ointments, triamcinolone, clobetasol, enbrel and one other steriod ointment for my eyelids to be used only when absolutely necessary as constant long term use is not recommended for eye area. One doctor thought it might be allergy based - he advised me to not take hot showers as is dries out your skin - I can't even tell you the last time I had a hot shower - they're always cool to room temp - needless to say I don't waste a lot of water showering. I'm looking at the gluten free diet to see if that changes any of my symptoms - giving it a good 30-day trial. I'm thinking the hops in my beer is another trigger - sad to see it go but if it will help hallelujah. If there is improvement I'll have the wheat sensitivity test done just to confirm.

Each day is new and I try to live my life that way - I don't concern myself with things I can't control anymore - I can only change me and my behavior. Stress could be what triggers my eczema as well - it started up a few years ago and unconsciously this is how my body reacts - without going into a lot of details my dad kicked me out of the family because I and my adult children decided we would be staying home for Christmas Eve and not going to their house; my mother does what my father tells her to do so you could say I became an orphan on Perl Harbor Day Dec 2011. I have estranged siblings because of all this - my baby sister was my best friend and it breaks my heart because that relationship is gone as well. My dad had just been diagnosed with prostate cancer and it had gone on long enough that it moved into his bones - all that drama over not coming to dinner. My dad has always ruled his house and family with an iron fist and I always marched to my own tune - this wasn't the first time he's done this to me but will be his last - I forgive him but I won't forget - this last time damn near destroyed me emotionally and mentally; I value and cherrish my life and friendships more than his approval. So yes - I guess stress could be my unconscious trigger as well. Guess you could just say I'm a flake - no pun intended.
Be good to yourself - do one thing each day that makes you smile.

ok, i completely forgot about the 17th being the mailing date and had focussed on the 24th and so proud to be done early. FAT CHANCE! LOL. sikesjj, a heavyish package is coming to beau. i will let you know the expected arrival date. i expect it will be either ups or fed-ex, so watch your trash cans! lol. i found a time sensitive envelope dropped off by ups behind my flowering plants yesterday. so glad someone paid extra to have them hide it from us! they are developing all the bad habits of the previous monopoly!
d'sm-- your package goes out today-- i couldn't fit you-know-what in the package, so will wait for colder weather and a bigger box/envelope! sure enjoyed having you as a rec'r and i hope the wait, altho' incredibly long, will prove worth it! brat-- cross me off the list as owing. my obligations have now been met!

oh no Nancia not crossing you off lists. no way no how. um you must owe something.. like a song to me, or perhaps a poem for Jaba or a .. something.. let me dig it up surely its there somewhere.. nope not in this pocket.. nope not under the couch where I happen to hide lots of things (found that out when we moved it).. um.. give me time girl.

Today we head out to Wyoming! Le grand adventures of Le Brat and her entourage" shall begin! El grumpo and the screaming cats seemed well.. less exciting. I am going to be positive and thrilled the entire way. I just know it. And promise to share how much fun it is after 12 hours in the car tonight when we dance our way into Salt Lake City. There is a story into itself. A how dumb is she story in fact. (surprise!). I went online smartly and booked my hotel! I got confirmation which I immediately tucked into a save me folder! I checked it out last night in order to put down the confirmation number on paper when we got there. Uh.. the dates are wrong on that? how could that be?? So I get this sinking feeling. I had wondered why they had already charged me. Usually they hold your number and charge you if you dont show up. well I sure didnt show up. it was for 2 weeks ago. Call get the Manager explain that I am an idiot and had not double checked the email. We will squeeze into their full hotel. For an extra 30.00 now that is an expensive mistake. lesson learned. check it, check it twice and my case have someone else double check my double check. sigh. boy did I feel stupid. (earned that one by the way). dumb bunny!

la bratina, pretty dancer, even if you were a dumb bunny, which you are not, or i couldn't have used were instead of are, you must know that soebunny loves you! we all make little tiny boo-boos once in awhile. it proves we are human and in no competition with any dieties, single or otherwise. so don't you dare speak bad about my friend like that!!

Here here! I second Nancia! We all make mistakes. I'm just glad the man had a room for you! Have a safe trip and let us know you're OK!!!

We still have several I haven't heard from. I'm thinking the next time I'm going to ask for an outside email too, for a non-telephone kick in the pants. I'm not going to stress though. It's summer and I know everyone is busy.

I don't think Dabbler ever posted a pic of what I made for her so I'll show you the other half of our swap. She wanted a wild life/ nature theme to go with some mounts in their house. I made her this runner and 2 throw pillow covers for her couch. I sent her some western quilt labels that I had.

love both of those Jaba and Dabbler! Great looking and excuse ME but those would look good on my table thank you very much. Send immediately.

next: Le Grand Adventures of le Brat and her entourage: We pulled out at 8 am yesterday! made it with a loud choir of three cats who expressed their extreme sadness for leaving our home in the woods. Very loudly to ensure we didnt miss a single note they even hit high notes unheard of before to the human ear. Little angels they were! We made it 20 minutes down the path to a new beginning when my dear sweet man looks at me and says.. you remembered my back pack right? uh what? I packed the entire front house my bathroom which btw had half his stuff in it. I said her is the key you can walk through he didnt. he wanted to leave. so... we turn around and go back to the house to get his stuff which I had kindly said have it fed x over night to jaba's and buy a new shirt and undies along the way. NOOOOO.. soo El GRUMPO EMERGES and is very displeased I did not get his stuff and well I am silent. oh joy great start. singing cats still. we get back get his things people are up wanting to chat pull out at.. 9 am now. oh great. now we are starting late. shoot. so the next thing up is .. singing cats.excuse me 1/2 hour into it one gave up.. one never sang to begin with. one is letting us know he wants to go home NOW. for the next hour. Then we smoothly traveled along for the next 12 hours occassional bouts of singing not too bad. Nevada was prettier than I expected in a very stark way? It grew on me, not enough to move there but it grew on me. We arrive in Salt lake at 11:20 cant find the hotel. call syri! she cant find the hotel either. argh! so.. I call the hotel .. the guy starts to give directions that well if you knew the area were not driving at 11:20 for your 14th hour and the lights are all blurring and those STUPID orange fix the highway cones are not everywhere saying drive right through the slot here! like cattle gates but only scarier. The man says things are blurring. Super great news! we find finally la quinta! get in the driveway I go in.. sorry wrong La Quinta. WTHell so we drive some more til amazngly we found the hotel. the lady has a brand new off the plane from India accent. I cant understand her at all. She is snarling at me. I am ready to snarl at her. I don't pat the brat on the back. We get the cats head into the hotel they start SCREAMING at the top of their lungs oh my god if i could have turned and run I would have. We try to rush to the elevator they are seriously at the top of their little lungs.. and they shut up for the elevator but start again in the hallway El Grumpo is saying open the damned door quick open it well it unlocks but its so heavy I cant push it open and argh pirates.. he has to we let the cats out the one still screams oh hell.. 4 minutes or eternity which ever came first he shuts up and its 12:15 tada we are alive. hadnt had dinner. the plug in cooler didnt work. everything we had in the cooler was roasted. super! so no food for le brat. I am off to explore the breakfast grab some fruit hopefully and then we hit the road again.. I am excited about more singing. for 9 hours if not more the way El Grumpo drives. Wish me luck. ps its my fault we got lost last night too, who knew!

We have 3 swap members who are currently MIA. I'm hoping they haven't been swallowed up by their fabric stash!

If you haven't received your package and haven't spoken to your partner in a while, please drop me a note and let me know, if you haven't already. I just sent the three I haven't heard from another message & I'm going to give them until Wednesday to respond before I get out my handy dandy tele & reach out to them that way.

Well day two of my grand adventure started out with El Grumpo being a grizzly bear. I don't think anyone could snarl so much and still be able to smile later but its true! We made it out of Utah by 9. The city has a bit of a .. sulfer odor to it from the waters so heading out and up into the hills was a nice change up. The town of Provo is absolutely beautiful. I can honestly say it was a long long drive but I have seen so much it was worth it. Leaving Utah we went up this monsterous grade to the altitude of 8,500 feet! the truck was super thrilled to be heading up that hill pulling a uhaul. We have an F150 and it was a good work horse but sometimes it just was more like being in the "little engine that could" it did the think I can , think I can.. we hit a whopping 45 miles an hour at that point. I was thinking ah hell we will be pushing it up this hill if it goes any slower! Then we cross the great divide and left me tell you.. there is this amazing absolutely stunning view that comes in on the left side there, RED! ORANGE! Gold! cliff sides as the canyon/ravine shows up just like something you would expect in say Arizona? but here it is in Wyoming, then on the other side of that is this green slope. The earth had lifted up with such force there so many many years ago its just.. a well a marvel to see the vast contrast.. if you love scenery this is it for you. stunning. The drive into Cody was very pleasant, the kitties took a sweet nap (oh yes) and we both were pretty silent just taking it all in. Its rolling soft country here surrounded by mountains (not huge ones) and the river is just at the end of the street. Jan and her DH are such gracious host's and served up a well enjoyed home cooked meal. I have been craving a home cooked meal for a week now. Boy that hit it on the spot! I am sitting leisurely drinking coffee and soon to jump into a shower so we can go start the day unpacking! yipppeee!!

Morning to you all! Photos coming shortly!

So happy you arrived safely - thank you jaba for posting photo of the pillow covers and the runner you made and sent me - I have the runner sitting in my bay window and have all kinds of stuff sitting on it and the pillows are well used - we like to stretch out on the sofa and sometimes unintentionally we doze off; that happens a lot at our house lately with all the crazy weather we've been having. We are running on sleep depravation - Mr. Beasley, our big dog, is terrified of thunder and lightning - I'm not a fan of doggie downers so refuse to start him on meds if they're not necessary; we'll get by as the storms pass but this season has been a month of thunder and lightning.

Had a very relaxing day yesterday - went to see one of my friends in the cities and her and her fella live on the lake so had a nice long boat ride tour of the lake - homes were spectacular - after our boat ride we cooked homemade pizza on the grille and then went to see the play Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat; it was the perfect day spent with friends.
Be good to yourself - do one thing each day that makes you smile.

d'sm-- any chance they are the singing members of brat's entourage?? they are busy tormenting her with the epic song of paula dean's civil wars in the south-- did i have to go there? oh, yes, i did! and evidently, so did the cats. i feel sorry for all involved, but especially brat!
many years ago we moved from the northeast to the southwest. i had the car with all the noisemakers-- a teething baby and a cat who thought she was a civil defense siren. the third day into the trip i discovered i could tether her to her carrier (a super large one for a cat) and she rode the rest of the way as cleopatra on her barge, waving her tail to her public from the top of the carrier, and saints be praised, utterly silent. my husband drove the truck with everything we owned, dragging his car, stuffed with plants, behind him, and the poor carsick black irish setter puppy next to him on the front seat. so you see, brat is not the only one to have crossed the great plains by wagon ( ours was a '78 toyota, descendant of the conastoyota wagons our four fathers travelled in). the baby's first tooth popped through as we crossed the tex-arkana line, and there was peace throughout the land! we stayed at only the finest establishments, or the only ones that allowed cats, dogs and babies. several truckers offered to take me away from all this until my dh blocked the cb reception with his truck. sigh. white lightening, i'm still waiting for ya, baby! he sounded like the man of my dreams, going all the way to dallas and all i had to do was drive into the back of his 18 wheeler, and join him in the front cab for cheese and crackers and a little vino. sounded so much better than the deal i had! but that was 30 something years ago, and this deal has worked out pretty darn well in retrospect! dance with the one that brung ya, i always say! lol. said after that i would sell everything we owned and fly across if we ever came back to the east. well, i nearly did. paid someone to pack it drive it, and store it, while my dh drove across with a dog a cat a rabbit and a middle child. the youngest and i flew with one little cat in a squishy carrier under the plane seat. he didn't make a single meow till we landed. everyone was so surprised there was a cat on the plane! he's 20 yrs old now, and does nothing quietly any more.
so, soldier on, brat, and mr. grumpy pants! be glad you're not peddling a bicycle, or driving a 20 mule train wagon like ronald reagan did. things can ALWAYS be worse! and next time i make the trip back home to texas, i AM selling everything (except quilting related) and flying back! that first trip took us 5 days. i have since driven it in one. why did we drag it out? drive safe, brat and mr.gp!

I love your story and no Nancia I never once thought we were the only ones with singing cats/cry babies! I really love the area here and am thinking it will be home in no time at all. I am sure thinking we wont make another trip just like this one again... too long too far and this is a good as place as any to drop anchor for the last time.

DM I am still here and Nacia and I email multiple times a week, I think I am going to adopt her as my family. We received Beau's package last night and it was a whole lot of "WOW"s from him. He slept with his quilt last night and brought it with him to the living room this morning and had to have it for nap time, so I think he likes it. She also got hime a John Deere tractor set that has four different tractors and trailers along with some animals and little guys to drive the tractors. They are cute, and he loves them so much I have had to ban them from my wood floors because he is driving me crazy rolling them. I have tried to upload pics and it isn't letting me, so I will try again this afternoon. Summertime is crazy we have been gone everyday somewhere the past two weeks, I'm tired and I want a nap, I understand why my Mom was always so tired, I used to say "Why are you tired, you don't work?!?!" I am eating those words.

the shopping was the most exertion! i had to find john deere stuff, and capt america, his favorites. i made the quilt during our sleep-over at grann of 6's house. it's amazing what you can get done while talking , eating and drinking (just a very little bit of wine), and staying up til midnight. then up at the butt crack of dawn for b'fast and shopping, followed by an afternoon of sewing, talking, and laughing! these sleep-over home retreats may be the wave of the future! so much fun! and sue has a fantastic studio set up and is a charming hostess! we each brought a little something to the table, literally. judy joined us in the afternoon as her grandson finally passed the rock he'd swallowed a week before. that's a diet high in ruffage and minerals! lol. glad it worked out ok for him! we were all relieved. ( no pun intended, butt there it is! lol and another! the hits just keep on rockin')
d'sm, i'm glad you like the runner. as usual it is my own design and it gave me a few tense moments, and then behaved. and as usual, i forgot to take pictures of either the quilt and farm vehicles or the runner. hope you guys can do it for me. if not, no biggie. you all will have to use your imaginations! 8-) beau's quilt is backed with bright green dense fleece so it can bear the brunt of tractors and kids pounding on it, and it's soft and fuzzy for curling up in. there are 12 blocks, 8" squares, sashed with black kona cotton, and each intersection has a 2" square of road signs. the outer border is 2 rows of pick up trucks heading down an endless highway in both directions. there, you've got it-- as i mentioned before, i think, each square has something that represents a place, like there's a dog park and/or a dog store and a school with children and letters. there are 12 blocks. it's bound in black. d'sm has, as promised, a tropical feel runner, all bright batik, backed in orange, and an orange batik binding. there, that's your mind exercise for the day!. lol.

Yep yep! It's beautimous! It's very happy on my foyer table too! I've been trying to give it some time to flatten out, but I think it's about as good as it's going to get for now, even after ironing, lol.

Beau won't turn loose of the quilt for me to get a good picture he is scared the girls are going to take it, maybe I can sneak it away at nap time?!?!? Sorry that they are crooked!!!
