This is what I have for the Dad's so far.
I took out all the blues/greens and put some "non-girly" yellows in.
It's 4x5 squares and depending on the rest of the blocks that come in, it should be bigger. Right now, put together, it would measure about 40x50 without a border, which I think it will have a border.
Yes, Kit had to help hold down some of the blocks.
What do you think?
**edit** Looking at it now, I see some blocks that need to be swaped around. Any suggestions?

Oh my gosh Terri!!!!! I just found this new thread, and been reading every page, tears. You are so absolutely amazing! I can't believe how you are putting this all together, and how gorgeous the quilt lay-outs look. And the quilts are huge! So many blocks from so many people, it makes me cry we're such a family. You're the best Terri (((hugs))) And i just know those little girls are going to feel the love and happiness in these quilts so much :)

Terri - it's going great! For the Dad's layout, the only thing I'd say is that you have two yellows in the top row, none in the second and one each in the bottom rows - maybe put it so there's one in each row? Or am I too 'regularised'! You know what I mean, can't think of the word!
