I Spy Swap with a Twist dead line to join is Sept.28th, 2013
#71
I was referring to her swap on her blog... one of her rules was no fabric from Walmart or JoAnn's, so I wanted to make sure she knew it was WalMart fabric. In fact, I buy most of my quilting fabrics from JoAnn's these days. I find some great stuff there, including Denise Schmidt prints.

Oh okay. I was just confused. I agree I shop at Joann's myself because I have no quilting shops near me.i have to travel over an hour to get to one. So either I shop on line or travel 40 minutes to Joann's. I still need to get a few more fabrics for the twist .

I was just in JoAnn's today and saw so many great things for an I Spy quilt. The novelty prints section is full of goodies, as is the children's.
I was shopping to enhance three different collections of fabrics for three different quilts! That will really make your head spin....

I try to stay away from JoAnns only because so many others get their fabric from JoAnns.............but that doesn't mean I don't slip one in here or there............
I buy on line when the sale price is right......................and no shipping charges.............ebay is another good source....
I also love going to garage sales and have found lots of good I spy fabric......this year has been a good year........I have enough fabric to do I spies for the next year....................and none of the fabric is cheesy.................
Bought my stamps today so hopefully I will get mine mailed out this weekend.................
So I guess you want to know what I'm sending..................LOL.........5 inch squares...........hehehehe

I'm ready to send .... came up with these 6 sets:

I do have a question about the twists: what do you do with them? ..... and .... would polka dots be appropriate for these?
Thanks, I'm just not sure how I would use twists.
Post Note:
OH DUH! I just re-read the directions one more time. My initial interpretation of the directions was that a twist consisted of two sets of 10 for the 20 blocks ..... upon careful reading I now realize that a twist is ten sets of 2 blocks for the 20 blocks. Thanks y'all, it does help to understand what is printed.

Now, I've never made a Matching I-spy quilt but here's what I think the twist is used for......An i-spy quilt that has 2 squares of each fabric all mixed or "hidden" in the quilt. Then the recipient/child has to find not only the specific fabric, but it's match within the quilt....kind of like the game "memory.'"

Yep that's the way it is Foxflower. I think it would be neat to make a matching I spy block quilt . I'm collecting for it.
So MaryMo's other question is does anyone mind polka dots? I don't mind one or two for matching quilt but wanted all your opinion on it first.
