Yes, I've noticed too that the black and white quilts are popular recently. They often include shades of grey or a 'pop' of red.

Nice blocks, Jaba! I like how they are definite patriotic type prints, and not ones that are simply a red print or a blue print. Great job! I'll sit out for this swap, it's the next one? I want to work on putting the batik blocks together into a top and I'm sure it will take me some time-- I'm planning to make it bigger than the 6 sets will do for me.

I'm going to miss on the patriotic as well. My patriotic prints don't really work with white, as they are mostly cream/off white backgrounds with the reds and blues.
Jaba - yours look great!

Thanks everyone! I had a major sew day yesterday, waiting for the Daytona 500. Both of my sons were there in the rain and I just stayed nice and dry...but all 6 sets are done. Now I can start on the next ones. Quilt is all sewn together with the 30's fabrics and need to get it on the quilting table. Haven't put together the "brights" yet but will soon.

I have been working on the LAST block since 10:00 this morning, I have had to rip it out so many times I think I may have to recut it. I finally have my tension right (I think) so I am fixing to give it another try <sigh>

do to health issues I have going on right now I am not able to get my blocks finished in time. I have a nasty sinus infection that is effecting my vision making it unsafe to sew or cut. I so wish I could finish this swap. WHen I am able to sew again, I will put my blocks into a quilt or me.

Will join when I can again, go to the radiation doctor with dad this week to get him started on radiation treatments for his cancer. Then in April will be doing mom's low back surgery.
