In some parts of the country, snow is a part of life. Here, it's a novelty we're not prepared to drive in. Also, it snows at night, melts during the day, refreezes at night and leaving a layer of ice the next day. No snow tires and I've never put on chains. Just going down the drive on ice is dangerous as the other side of the road is a cliff. It'll clear by the end of the week to sunny and 60's during the day. Besides the PO I need a blood test. Maybe Friday. As long as there is power, or a generator with gas, I could stay put for several weeks, got plenty of supplies and quilting and computer. It's all good.

I decided I needed to switch gears so I can get Michelle's center to Rebaquilts ASAP since it has to travel across the sea.
When I heard whimsical theme I decided to do string blocks with lots of fun fabrics but now I'm worried that it is too much for the center, thoughts?

I like your idea and see what you mean... maybe if it had more lighter strips with white backgrounds? You used one in the wee block on the left...

while I have you, are you only wanting ‘paper piecing’ on your American beauty centre it can we use other techniques? Is that allowed?
    thanks x

I see what you mean too, perhaps put a black and orange or black and yellow through the middle of each one? Something to tie in the center? Designing is always the issue with these, usually not so much execution.

Hi ladies, here is a little spoil alert for Mona's top...

Today I've been working away on a cute little technique that I occasionally like to use.
I've been making some squares in preporation for Mona's top arriving very soon...

Jacquie, that is very cool! Can't wait to see it all come together.

Jacquie, looking good. Love seeing all the progress photos.
I'm happy to announce that I received CarrieM center yesterday, send date of 3.15 so have plenty of time).
I now have three quilts but will be sending one out in the next couple of days(mmonohon) and hopefully get the other one(petthefabric) done shortly after. Either way I will have them mailed before the 2.15.21 deadline.

I like the concept. I think it needs to tie together with some yellow and orange.
