When I received Macy’s top, I thought the center block sparkled and now it really sparkles. The center and first border had straight lines and I thought it needed curves, thus I added the vine, flowers and leaves. I questioned myself when I was done, but it was too late to turn back. I think the further borders play and complement the center very well. Each border works. —- Best of all, Macy seems to be happy with the results.

I just finished petthefabric’s top. Need to press, trim threads and it will be ready to mail. I have a baby quilt for my great great granddaughter to bind and will head to the post office tomorrow with the two of them. —— On to the next project. . .

Suz, I was trying to mimic your movement on Macy's as I loved how that looked, and the corners were supposed to be similar to the corners in the center block.

I finished one side of Reba's quilt. I plan to do the same on all four sides, but it is all freeform so they will not be exactly the same. Had to do some piecing of the white and gray due to the angles, I'm gonna try to figure out a better way for the other sides. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm trying to reduce the amount of balk when I turn the corner at the end.

I ordered a special math fabric that is leaving NY today. Should be her Tuesday so I can finish up MMonohon's top. Today is making dino/science square in a square blocks. Hoping this turns out like it is in my head.

I would add that someone in the later rounds needed to repeat the motif for just that reason, so insofar as no one did, that was a mistake because without the bold repeat, the earlier round stuck out like the sore thumb. Of course, you could add another border at the very end to repeat the motif because it wasn't done earlier, or remove the inner border that wasn't tied in, which is perhaps easier to do than replace a larger border, because a 7th border makes the quilt super huge. . That's why your dresden border in this round works so well, it ties together the prior motif and plays with it, repeating the colors and motif in a cool new way. Kudos on your artistry.

And I totally agree, I made those small blocks for Liora's quilt top, but when laid out, it really didn't work. Later borders are more difficult than earlier borders in trying to tie a quilt top together and simpler borders work when they are with applique borders next to them, they give the eye a break it needs.

I love these round robins and feel blessed to be in such great company. Carrie, you are a trooper to do this with your hand issues, I hope that it has been relaxing therapy for you.

Thank you all for your confirmation that my borders are acceptable and even work! I do my best work even if they aren't really intricate.

Reba--yes I am glad I have the round robins to do as it is keeping me doing at least some sewing. Otherwise without the deadlines I probably would just wish I was sewing but now actually doing it.

I have 2 sides on Suz's quilt and most of the blocks finished for the other 2 sides. I will have it done and ready to ship by the end of the week.

So, I managed to spend 2.5 days working on Mr Moose and this lunchtime I finished him!!
I can't believe it!! He's my last round to work on, just like that, we're finished!!
And can I say, he's a total delight! I love this quilt!!!!
I changed my mind about surrounding him with a mountains pp border as I felt he had enough mountains and the quilt was calling for something else. I really loved the Batik peiced border with the addition of 2 small moose that Reba didn't use but included in the package. They're in the bottom 2 corners... I then added some leaves to the top 2 corners and called it finished!
I've just taken Mr Moose to the Post Office for his final journey home. I hope he doesn't make too much noise on the flight!!
