January - June 2021 Round Robin

I was thinking the same I need a month or two break to catch up on some other projects. And yes I agree it would be lovely to end up with a rectangle and I’m open for flexibility in borders to allow that to happen. Were/Are you thinking an August or September start? Hugs!

Greetings all! Here is a photo of Jacquie’s last border, I added some courthouse step blocks to make little hearts from the log cabin blocks and added a coordinating batique to the rest of the border to allow me some space to do the sunflowers. This lovely will hit the mail and be on its way home soon :-)
Love the last border for Liora’s quilt what a wowsa this one turned out to be. The colors tie in so well and it certainly pulls in the center. Hoo-rah!
hugs all!!

What a fabulous border. I love how you made my border "extend" into yours.
I also like rectangle quilts, I think we can have a few options for the center and options for size of borders.

Thanks Mona, I really loved your log cabin blocks and when laid out, I thought courthouse steps to make a secondary pattern of hearts, because that is how I feel about all of you. I'm so grateful and thankful to be in this group. My work assistant and I looked at it all laid out from a distance and agreed that it needed some more yellow to tie into the yellow in the center, think sunflowers, and the corners were planned out to add the applique and complete the border. I initially planned out to mimic the inner border with the black stripe and burgundy, using the black chicken wire fabric, and make corner blocks of the maple leaf pattern from the barn, but I went to like 6 stores and couldn't find more chicken wire fabric anywhere.. Necessity made it be a plain burgundy on the outside strips rather than the black stripe pattern, as the background for the flowers and I ditched the idea of the maple leaf pattern blocks in the corners and used the sunflower applique idea instead.. Sometimes the lack of a fabric leads to a different design choice. From a distance, I think this turned out better anyway. Hugs all!!

Petthefabric - please send a photo of your completed quilt, I can't wait to see what Suz added.
I think this is the only one we haven't gotten a photo of the final quilt, if not please post.

Oh good Michelle! I am glad it arrived quickly.
I cleaned my sewing room yesterday and today. Then I figured out a border to add to the top and bottom of one of my quilts to make it rectangle (Round 2 since it was a little smaller). I started cutting/sewing fabrics today....probably won't have a chance to work on it again until Monday but will be sure to share what I come up with.

I had two cortisone injections this morning...one in my thumb and one in my shoulder...both in my right arm. Lord willing this will help with the pain and prevent any surgeries of my own! This is the first time I've had a "guided injection" and thankfully they seem to be helping almost immediately and I am not having the bad reaction (numbness in my whole hand) like the last one I got!
