    July Mini Quilt Swap

    July Mini Quilt Swap

    “Kaleidoscope”

    Sign-ups close July 1st

For this swap we will be making miniature quilts. The suggested size is 6-18 inches or anywhere in between, finished.
Square, round, rectangle, hexi, it’s up to you.

    The theme is “Kaleidoscope”

The little quilt must have a top, batting and backing and must be bound. You can use any method you wish to fashion the top, piecing, appliqué, whole cloth, thread painting etc.

Please PM tlambing by Friday July 1st to sign up
. I will then match up names and get them out to you ASAP. You will have until July 29th to mail your tiny quilt to your partner. This is a FIRM DEADLINE!

Please don’t sign up unless you can commit fully to this deadline.

Please pm the following info to tlambing if you wish to join us:
*if you’re a returning player, I have your info just send me your name and any changes*
    Real name:
Phone # (this will not be given to your partner, this is for my use only in the event that a problem should arise)
    Can you ship internationally:
Do you have the ability to post pictures:

As soon as names are given, please contact your partner right away.
Please contact me asap if you are having trouble getting in contact.
Please continue to post on the thread throughout the swap. Let everyone know of your progress, post sneak peeks and encourage other swappers It’s so much fun seeing everyones progress and sharing in our quilting friendship.
Any swapper that fails to follow through and does not contact me and their partner will be banned from any of my future swaps and will receive bad (swap)feedback. I know that sometimes things happen that are out of our control, I certainly would take this into consideration, but you MUST COMMUNICATE.

Swappers should treat each other as friends and focus on the fun. So…please be prepared to be flexible, patient and understanding if necessary and appropriate.

****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here on the quilting board****

I remember a class making these, with multiple layers of repeat patterns. Wasted a bit of fabric, but then I figured it out.
So, I' in & will send a pm. Thanks to Teresa once again!

OMG, forgot how long it's been since I did a kaleidoscope! Had to look on the web and think about it for awhile. Did 1 today and thought I had it but it looked more like a "storm at sea"...got my Ricky Tims book out today and kind of refreshed my memory. We shall see how this one looks. Got a couple of the strips sewn together...more to go for sure.
Hubby and I decided to get "his" shop insulated so need to move out "toys" and make lots of dump trips so they can come and spray on Tuesday morning. Not a small job in a 60' X 120' shop, think my weekend is shot. cleaning and moving. I can hardly wait 'til in the morning!! ugh...........

I am well under way as I had already picked out what I wanted to do as soon as the swap was posted. It is coming along nicely and I like how it is going. This is fun! I am in contact with my wonderful swap partner dotcomdtcm.

Lurking from the sidelines... July is gonna be crazy for me so I couldn't commit. Kaleidescopes sound cool, even if I can't spell it!

I was excited too lj....but what was I thinking? Been sewing on this today and trying to remember all the angles that I had made to sew little pieces together and I'm still not done. Just hoping it is going to work so I don't have to start over or my partner will receive the weirdest mini she has ever gotten. Wish me some luck ladies, I truly need it on this one. Talk about out of your comfort zone???

Oh this was right up my alley!!!! Fussy cutting repeat patterns. I didn't see it until today so I'll just have to watch this time.
