I use them as pretty decor for my pincusions...not necessary, but love to look at them! Back in the day...I would use them to secure my hat!

I'd use them to secure those V neck shirts that want to gape open, if I could not something on the end, like a proper stick pin. I bet someone makes stick pin findings. I'll check at Michaels. 25 % off coupon today! 3 blocks away

You can buy them in a package in Joann's...long pins with ends...that's what I buy.

Hint: If we got the August theme early... more people might sign up...I could shop on my vacation... certain high achievers might be really happy. Just an idea!!

if its too early Ladies then it scares those who are working on this months. We have still 2 days left til the mail outs are due this month and come on.. 10 days is plenty of shopping time lol to get things for your next mug rug. its a tiny mug rug! does not take much fabric truly and even if ordered by mail if you went online on the 21st and ordered you would have your fabric by the 1st at your home at the latest. so.. patience my little fillies! you can make it! lol. besides, drum roll please... this month Ctyankee is posting so who knows when she will post. its a mystery to even me! ah ha! passing the old buckaroo. she is cranking out the ideas and the ready set go even as I type... where she gets her energy? well I would sure like to know cause I could use a bucket of it too!

Elisabrat, personally speaking, I agree with you about not revealing next month's swap theme until the deadline for the current one has expired.

Historically, I have been one that sends close to the deadlines-not because I am a procrastinator, but because every time I think I have time to work on a project, something comes up -usually it's an adorable 21 month old and who can say 'no' to that? Or an invitation to a friends, or a softball game, or ... You get the picture.

That said, because I happened to have my commitment completed early this month, I admit to secretly wishing I knew the next swap theme; not so much to actually make the mug rug but to start collecting ideas. I believe that even when it is 'maker's choice', recipients taste should come into play, even if it's more about what they don't like vs what they do like. And if we don't know who we are swapping with, we don't know about their preferences. Just my two cents.
