Are you still taking bunches of meds? (just kidding).

Wellllllll you are "east" of me, but you are not far enough south.

Last year I waited with great anticipation for my grapes to ripen. The moment arrived ... and so did a ridiculously huge flock of birds. In an hour they were gone.
This year I thought I was ready. The minute I saw a few purple ones I gathered up some lovely blue and purple netting from my stash ... and voila! A gorgeous and colorful bird net to protect my precious grapes!
Some of them were actually shrieking and dive bombing us as we put it up.
Ha ha, birds! You lose!
Or so I thought ...
Today I discovered that the stinkers were going up underneath and feasting away. And much to my horror some are now stuck in there! So I seem to have a lovely bird aviary.

ToomanyUFOs, I feel your pain. While those of us who are consumers are thrilled that lobster is now much much cheaper than lunch meat, we have to consider what that means for the lobstermen. It really is a hardship. I wasn't aware that there was a strike going on. My sister lives in Ipswich, MA and mentioned that many are not buying lobster out of solidarity. My sister, here in New York, dated a lobsterman for several years. He trapped and sold out of the Hamptons. When the lobsters were few and far between, it was tough going. I have such admiration for those who make an honest living from the sea. It is hard work, indeed.

Default Picture of what I sent Peace and Joy

Pictures of what I sent Peaceandjoy...

SP was Rosemary, aka Ladybug 1936, and she really put together a lovely package. She sent me a couple of mysteries, which I've just started reading the last couple of years, some quilting magazines, a nice hot pad made from Florida Semiloes fabric, fabrics with chickens on it, kitchen towels, a note pad, toys for Six (my cat, who has six toes on all of his feet), a really cool little tote that is kind of a tiny ball until you open it up, as well as a postcard, map, and tour guide from Panama City (I love getting something from the sender's area). Oh, and some Soft and Black batting, which I haven't used before. Rosemary really took the time to include things she knew I would enjoy.

Thank you, Rosemary, for being such a generous and thoughtful SP!

Peaceandjoy,
Robin[/QUOTE]
