June 9 Patch Block Swap Signups
#301
Evie, thanks for all that work you did for the swap! To make one of each seems like a labor of love. :-) I like the setting idea. I'll file it for future reference. The quilting on it reminds me of popcorn.
Lots of pictures today! Good job girls! It's fun to see the sewing you have been up to.
Gannyrosie, cute after-pic of your gown, do we get a before-pic? :-)))
SBG is that machine quilting? It can't be too 'antique' if it is, do you think? Maybe modern use of old fabric?

I wish I could say that's my quilt, but, alas, not so. It's made by Cindy Carter (see the link at post #293). She does lots of easy scrap quilts. Notice that the 9-patches (not the chains) and border pieces are all scrappy.
givio, for me making one of each was easier since I didn't have to do a lot of cutting. Wrist is on the mend, so if I don't overdo I'm OK.

Sewbizgirl, you mentioned in one post about doing a nine patch swap alternating with white. At first, I wasn't too excited about it, but just saw this one now and love it! What does everyone think of something similar to this:

Evie & QM, beautiful blocks.
Obrienwv - cute quilt!! I do like the checkerboard patten of our nine patches. I would love to do one with colors and whites. All the 9P quilts are darling. It’s hard to choose which one to make (or two)!

Givio, I would guess that red, white, and teal blue quilt was made in the 60's. I consider anything over 50 years old, antique.
obrienwv, I have actually made blocks for that quilt! Mine are scrappy but all one color per block, with white centers. I'm going to sash with white, rather than have an alternate white block with color center. Need to make a few more blocks before I can put it together.

I could go either way with the next swap. I'm not too particular. Givio I tried to send you a before pic, but pm wouldn't let me do it unless i had a url, and hell if i know how to accomplish. So her I am 38 yrs ago. Yes I'm that old. LOL>
