March/April Table runner/Table mat Swap!!!!
#53
Lovely colour selection on the Dresden -- so bright and cheerful. She must have a huge table! That would cover my entire table. What a showcase that would be!
I heard from LJDugas that she is already finished with the one she's making for me and is ready to mail. And here I am just getting started. I've finally decided on a pattern and fabrics and have cut out about half of it. Hopefully I can be finished and ready to mail by the end of the first week in April. I'm making this on my new Janome 8900 so I'm using this project to learn the machine. It is a lovely machine but is still very daunting to learn.
Here's a taste of the fabrics I've chosen. She's partial to purples and yellow.

You are right about the size. I made the center Dresden 19 1/2 inches in diameter! That is driving the finished size? A reminder to have a plan befoRe making the first cut. The finished mat will be 24"x54" with binder. Checked with Ann...perfect fit! Thank goodness Swoooosshhh! Lesson learned!
I love your fabric choices! Can't wait to see what everyone is doing!
Sewing tomorrow!

oh my if she doesn't love that one I do! (hintero!) its gorgeous!
Terriam hope you feel better real soon. Being sick is no picnic at all. I have been working on my medallion quilt and got real stumped this month. The round is 52" and nothing is fitting at all. Finally just did a round added five inches to the ends and appliqued a flower on it. It has been a true learning curve for me to do real applique not just fuse and stitch. Its a LOT of work! praying to get my round finished real soon. as in today! wonder however there are sixteen leaves to applique by hand and its not fun. Yesterday I spent the day just cutting them out and figuring out how to turn them. Lesson learned: next time I chose applique for a quilt.. I wont! I wanted permanent not something that will pop open. I am getting permanent alright. And its not fun!
