Ladies, ctyankee has asked me to take over the swap for her and will do that if you'd like. If someone else would like to do that, it's fine, just let ctyankee know. My only question is do you want to take the summer off and begin again in September or do you want to continue through the summer???

Jaba I will go with the majority rule but my preference would be to take the summer off. Thanks for doing this

Does anyone else want to weigh in on this? The question is, do you want to continue or do you think the swap has run its course? The second question is, if you want the swap to continue, do you want to take the summer off? We have 2 votes for taking the summer off, & one person said it's run its course. Please let us know what you think. Everyone gets a vote! Jaba is willing to take over, temporarily at least, unless someone else wants to give it a go. Don't be afraid to try to hostess this group. I can always help out, of course, as can jaba, & there are plenty of people here who have swapped for a long time. So plenty of helpers, though only one hostess.

And thank you to everyone for the opportunity to be your hostess these past 2 years or so. I had a wonderful time doing that, & I met a lot of great people as well!

Here's an idea -- why don't swappers rotate as hostesses? Maybe someone will do 3 months at a time, come the fall, then someone take over the next 3 months? This way the work is shared. Just give it some thought. It's just an idea, & maybe you have a better idea!

I would hate to see it end, so I will vote for taking the summer of since so many people tend to travel during those months. I think the ideal of trading off on the hostess duties would be cool, I would not mind to help out but don't know how to get approval or to post the threads. Just an ideal.

Since it has been awhile since I hosted the pincushion swap, I would be willing to host for a couple months if others are willing to take turns. I really don't want to do it full time.

It looks like we may have a solution to our problem. This is the way I'm looking at it now -- let me know if your vision is different. We have 3 people who said they would give it a go, but not permanently. If the mug rug swap takes the summer off, then it could start up again in September. That means, beginning August 20th, someone will post the September swap, or maybe post September 1st. The way this swap has always been run is, we work a month ahead. So in September, we would be working on October mug rugs. This is only relevant if the theme is seasonal, of course. So the mug rug swap could be done by one person from September-November, 2nd person December-February, the 3rd person March-May. Then there's the summer again, although this could be decided later. We have jaba, Armylady, & klaws who said they could run the swap on a temporary basis -- if this system is agreeable to them. Or, they could rotate one month at a time, but hostess 3 swaps during the year (from September-May).

Does anyone else want to jump in & give hostessing a try? If we had 4 people, then each could hostess 2 swaps during that 9-month period. Oops ... mathematically, that doesn't work. but I'm sure someone will do the odd month.

Thank you to jaba, Armylady & klaws for offering to jump in & help out. How do you ladies want to work this?
