How do you figure which fabric patch goes into which pile. dark, med or light. The dark and the light are pretty easy, the medium not so easy. How do you decide?

Mary, If I ever get around to organizing my candy...and IF I sorted them by shade in this way, I would sort DARK...LIGHT...and everything else... lol.. Does that help?

Ladies! We have 30 Candy swappers already! More to come I'm sure. We have loads of time left for sign ups. And plenty of time for cutting, sorting, mailing.

I'm cut and packaged. I just thought I'd keep it here for a bit longer to save Sheri from the potential avalanche.

Since I had no 2.5" squares cut before I joined, I have been pretty disciplined, and am cutting for an hour a night in front of the t.v... I should be done in time, if I keep up this pace. The nice thing is I am cutting for the 1.5" swap at the same time, and it is saving my mind from all the little scraps that can be converted into 1.5" charms.. It's amazing that scraps become pieces for a quilt..

Barri, that's a great cutting idea. Sometimes I get overwhelmed when I have massive amounts to cut. I also do the 1.5" swap and LuvtooQuilt's layer cake swap AND Yosamitesa's 6.5" swap. I don't have bins and bins of fabric, though my family will say I'm verging on out of control. When I buy fabric for these last two I buy enough to cut 2.5" and 1.5" strips. So I currently have piles of both. Then I cut my squares from these. This answers an earlier question ... Yes I use the same fabrics for both swaps. Except for batiks which I only have 2.5" squares of. Oh and this time my "birthday candy" and my 1.5" squares will match because I used FQ's I collected for the birthdays but had plenty for some 1.5" cuts too. I hope that's ok lol.

http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...a-t215519.html. Here is a link to a 2.5" quilt posted this morning. I sure love all the ideas.

Well, Sheri, we have to take good care of your husband, too. If you lose him under a pile of candy, you might be too upset to be our hostess. :P

Rip it, rip it, rip it...yes that's exactly what I'll be doing today. I sewed about 8 blocks of 2.5" squares together before realizing that I was using the wrong size squares! I should have been using my 1.5" sqs. No wonder they were going together so well.

Rip it, rip it, rip it.
