Quiltingdragon, what a treasure to have those recipes! If I were you I'd take a photo of each of the ladies to go along with them. What a great cookbook that would make!

Quiltnut4ever, hope you have fun at the LQS today!

I did, indeed find some treasures. We went to the wrong address first, but I was happy because I found a brand new bundt cake pan and a brand new cheese grater - the kind where you put a chunk in and turn a handle. Lost both in the flood so I'm happy. Then we went to the right address -- and found lots of treasures: a dozen boxes each holding 100 8" zippers (do I need them? No I do not - onto Etsy they go for the house fund), tons of buttons, thread, seam binding and rick rack, seam binding, bolts of fabric and mesh interfacing, two huge pieces of wool - one of which has a selvage with a woven description, yards of tasseled trim - do I need or want any of this? No. I do not. Oh, and hubby found a pile of 60s LPs. They followed us home. They must go.

And bench girls ... scoot over. I'll keep you company. Still nothing here, but that's OK.

A few of you PM'med me and asked about my dad after I posted. He's doing better, they think the reason he was so sick was the tumor starting to break apart. My other beloved neighbor (the one on the left) who was my only grandparent figure, passed away unexpectedly and he was allowed out to go to the funeral as long as we sat away from everyone else. He's bored out of his mind being stuck at home, and he can do things as long as he's only with one or two other people and not around a crowd - I let him chauffeur my boss to the airport on Thursday to get him out of the house. I had to pull one of the chickens out of the fence where she'd gotten stuck, and got a lovely case of poison Ivy for my trouble. He's got chemo tomorrow, and they think they will be doing less than half of the chemo they thought and do some radiation instead.

Received a great pkg from Nancyw today! She sent 2 applique books, I really want to learn to applique so I've sure these will really help. Two other books, one by an author that I really like, and one called Quilted with Love that I'm sure will be great! Two yrds of beautiful purple fabric, my favorite, and big box of Lemonade and a bag of Heath bars, which my Grandkids were really eyeing today! Thank you again Nancy I loved everything!

Lori tried to send you a pm and your box is full!

May I ask the title of the applique book (not the machine applique, the other one)? Looks interesting and I'd like to check it out! Thanks

These aren't very colorful so don't be sad. Getting rid of them on Etsy for the rebuilding fund.

Its a pencil (whatever) case. I got mine at Family Fare( a Spartan Store) for 1.99. My granddaughter loves hers!! I think she plays with more than use it. You unzip all the way than rezip it.

The two packages I sent are out for delivery, so two people will be off the bench by the end of the day. I broke cover and PMed my two people, since I accidentally left out the notes I had written. Ah well, chaulk it up to old age!

Well, I've no idea where that owl has flown to! My first package arrived in Texas a week ago, but there doesn't seem to be any sign of the second one

On a happier note, the postman left a 'Sorry we missed you' card, so I'm hoping it's one of my parcels

Yay! I am one of them. The Bat sent me the sweetest PM and it is a delight to get to know her a little bit. Looking forward to the arrival of the postman today!

I received the most thoughtful package today from Belfrybat. She put so much thought into every single piece. And as I look at each piece, I am realizing the extent of that thoughtfulness. What a kind person she is.

She sent me a tiny packet of clothing labels and my favorite is the sunflower one with the size "FREE"! I want to be size FREE, don't you?

She went out of her way to hunt for white on white fabric which I asked for because I've been using too much black in my quilts and really have the need to lighten things up. They are perfect.

She also sent some extremely powerful Italian Roast coffee and chocolate. What more could a woman want or need to get her going in the morning? If my husband gets home from his meeting early enough there might be a bite left to share with him.

AND ... a Dresden Quilt template and tool. I picked one up for Ladybug some months ago and got one for myself, too. Never got to use it. Now I have a new one that I will treasure. And use!

AND a Kaleidoscope template looks like fun -- and features a pattern from Robert Kaufman fabrics - one of my favorite fabric designers.

    AND ... a Jacob's Ladder pattern.

And I almost forgot ... three beautiful batiks that will be used in my seascapes
    Name: Belfrybat.jpg
Views: 103

AND ... two magazines that I intend to settle down to peruse with a cup of coffee and some chocolate -- and one of them has a feature on Kaffee Fasset - my all time favorite quilt designer. How thoughtful was that?

Thank you so very much. I think the best part was getting to know Ms Bat a little and looking forward to a new friendship on this board -- which is, after all, the best part of it!
