Hi, Pat - just a hint I learned by trial and error. When doing satin stitch on an applique, it really helps if you have used fusible web to put the piece in place on the background fabric. Stays where it should, you can get a nice tight satin stitch without everything shifting and getting uneven. Just a suggestion....

thanks judy. my biggest problem is remembering which direction the stitch (needle) will go. silly me! sometimes my stitches are on the inside of my piece , sometimes on the outside, and sometimes just right in the middle. lol. also want to go too fast. just need to practice. machine applique is still fairly new to me.

Sure did and it is beautiful. I love it. It arrived yesterday. I posted yesterday. Yours will be in the mail this week and another one I have to catch up on. I'll post pics in the next couple days.

Yours will be going out this week. I'm 2 behind - first eye surgery and then a nasty cold/sinus/flu bug. It will be a good feeling to catch up.
Sorry missed your post, take care of yourself first, we've all been sick with the ful so I know you feel, take care.

Susanne, That star block is the greatest, I can see why you want to make a whole quilt of it. Do you know the name of the block?
