As I have noted here before, this is my first time to be in this type of swap and I'm looking forward to receiving my new ones.
Sadly, I probably won't be participating in many of the others as my DH (interpretation of that D varies at this time lol) pointed out that he just couldn't understand the logic of paying the postage to send and get back the same thing you sent, when you could just keep the ones you made and make something from them in the first place and save all that money.
Since our budget is squeaky tight, I couldn't really argue his point. Dang it! But I will keep peeking in to see what you all are making and maybe I'll just make my own to keep up.

But you only get back one that you sent, the rest are all different.
I do unfortunately understand the man's logic, but still can't get away from the thrill of finding the new treasures in my mailbox. It's sort of like Christmas morning!

Just a quick post letting you see I'm still working on this. Decided it was best to buy new fabric, verses using fabric which was questionable 30's fabric or not. 1st set completed, have the other 3 sets made into 4 - patches, will finished and mail out by Thursday. That should give it a week to get there. Will post as I finish the other three blocks. Happy sewing!

Have just looked at all the blocks so far and I don't think any of us has the same fabrics,GREAT! Can't wait for the swap.

"But you only get back one that you sent"

Mom-6 - - - no one is getting any of their own blocks back. Everyone will be getting swapped blocks. If you want a block of your for yourself, you'll need to make an additional block for yourself.

Wildyard - while I understand tight finances, I maintain that this is a more cost effective way to get a scrappy quilt. Imagine how much fabric you'd have to buy to get a really scrappy quilt like this?? And the camaraderie we all build as quilt buddies. You could compare it to guys trading baseball cards. Of course, I certainly don't want to start any arguments between you and your husband. ((I'll be quiet now)).
