Question. I'm wanting to join a block swap or whatever it's called, but I'm not too up on the jargon I'm afraid. What exact,y is a Candy block?

Here are a couple of quilts from the Moda website. I love their fabric! A lot of them are for jelly rolls, but would be fine for 2 1/2" squares . I have attached the web shortcuts for some of them, but if you go to http://www.modabakeshop.com/search/label/Quilt and scroll down each page and then at the bottom click older posts, you will find lots of ideas .

In my first 2.5" swap I called it candy after the Moda Candy packs of 2.5" squares. It's just sort of stuck and we have fun with it. If you like this size, we always have a great group of swappers!!!

Cavmom! Those are awesome sites. I love how everyone helps out here, I sure appreciate it!

Soooo.... I've received multiple pms asking about the "candy". Enough that I decided to post another description for potentially new swappers.

In my first 2.5" swap we called the small squares "candy" after the Moda sets of 2.5" squares. So...no real candy involved. One set would contain 50 DIFFERENT squares of 2.5" fabrics. Max set is 15. I choose 15 because I normally get 16 2.5" squares from one width of fabric. That leaves one for me, 15 to swap.

I'm sorry for the confusion and hope this helps clear up the question.

Well.....IF you send candy you better label it as SWAP candy.

I finished my candy today! All 15 sets are cut, bagged, and ready to go. I am doing multiple swaps so wanted to get this done as its easy but time consuming. So - I watched Ken Burns Civil War on Netflix and cut away. It actually was a nice enjoyable experience . Now I just need to make some little tags to pop in the bags of candy goodness. For now I am going to relax and have a cup of tea. That's if my cats can all chill out and stop growling at the new kitten. The big girls are all being ridiculous... darn cats!!!

Sheri, your projects are all fabulous! Can't wait to get started. I'm visiting my daughter right now and won't be home for a few days yet. Catch 22 situation!

Ok ladies here it is the quilt I made from SheriR's candy swap.....It is king sized and has 976 2.5" squares from candy swaps. This is the first quilt made from the swap I have my next one started. Not one of the 976 2.5" blocks are the same and they are from all over the world ) That's the part I love best is seeing where the fabrics come from. The chevron blocks in the quilt are from the 10 1/2 inch swap and the 6 1/2 in swap's that I also do here on the quilt board.
